Question about SanDisk Sansa E280 MP3 Player

Computer still won't recognize the files Sansa c250

I've tried everything. I didn't have a problem with my old computer. I just recently bought a new Dell with windows XP. My other computer also had windows XP. I installed the CD just as if it were a new MP3player. I've even downloaded the upgrade. I tried the different suggestions, holding down buttons.....everything but trying to hook my old hard drive to the new one to transfer the file over. I use this to transfer the pod cast of my radio show to my web site. The podcast that I had stored on the old computer were transferred to my new one....the computer recognizes the hardware, but does not display any of the files. I have a Sansa c250

Go to my computer > click on hardware tab >
click on device manager button > in the is next screen on the bottom should have>>universal serial bus controllers
(write these down just in case it cant find them)
right click on them and uninstall
reboot let windows reinstall them

Also told Microsoft hotfix causes this problem try uninstalling the last hotfix
If that doesn't fix it try the USB cable

My Sansa c250 won't charge properly. Initially when I bought it, I used it with a Windows XP PC, no sweat. That computer died and I began charging it with an OSX instead. It worked for a while, but after a...

I had a similar problem. My Sansa c250 would charge, when plugged into the computer. It would read that it was writing but the computer did not recognized that the Sansa c250 was connected. I switched to a different USB port and got the same results. I then realized that the two ports I was using were 1.0 port and idmedeatly when inserted in the 2.0 port it began charging and the computer recongized the Sansa c250. I know this won't solve every charging problem one may have. Changing the battery would be easier in some cases. Especially if they were sold like the AA or AAA.

The media device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected

Make sure you're not using the media with another program while you attempt to copy/sync it to your device.

Pretty late response, but meh.

Help!

We have two laptops and one desktop in my house and two 2GB Sansa c250s. My laptop recognizes my sansa c250 differently than our family's desktop (i.e. on the desktop i can't view certain folders/ music files that i transferred from my laptop to my player). The second laptop doesn't recognize mine at all, but it DOES recognize my sister's sansa c250.
my suggestion? try a different computer! and then KEEP using that computer for adding/ deleting files.

Computer says no files on device

Open device manager under the Control Panel to view hardware and devices. There should be a tab under portable devices that recognizes the Sansa c250. If their is a yellow exclamation point, then most likely the device has stopped working. Right click on it, and uninstall the device. Unplug your Sansa, wait a couple seconds, then plug it back in. Let it do its thing. If this does not solve your problem, then you should deffinately call the manufacturer.
