i have a Pink Kodak Easyshare C513 digital camera. ive had it less than a year [about 9 months now]. lately, whenever i turn it on, it reads "Lens Error 111,0,0,38 [the last 2 digits normally change everytime i try i.e 111,0,0,39 ... 111,0,0,40]. then after displaying that for about a second or so, it shuts off. is there any way i can fix this problem? its very annoying. i have taken good care of the camera, it hasnt fallen [ with the exception of one time a while ago] but its been working great, up to a few days ago, now it wont allow me to do anything. ive tried letting it "rest" for a day and then trying to turn it on again, but it doesnt work either. ive also tried changing the batteries, which doesnt work either.

My MD853 Kodak camera fell awhile ago, and the lens don't go in now. Everytime I turn it on it says Lens Error: 122,1,0,0.

Is there any way to fix this problem without paying for it to get fixed?

    Or buying a new one?

Because I've only had this camera for a few months now.

    Please help, thanks.

  • NikkiRudd Mar 01, 2009

it only turns on long enough to say lens error 115,0,0,2263

how do i know what this means?

how do i know how to fix it?

is there an online manual if i dont have the manual anymore?

  • NikkiRudd Mar 01, 2009

and not only the previous, but i didnt include that the lens does come out and go back in, but it makes an odd noise coming out

i havent dropped it (recently; i have dropped it but it was a long time ago) so i dont really know was is causing this

it shows the lens error: in the background is the image i can see

ex: it has the words flashing then just before it goes off it would show like,my leg where i was holding it to look at the screen

so if its showing the image..and it goes out and in..why isnt it working?and what is causing the noise?

You lens is not working properly and it needs service. That is all the error means. The camera will not work right until it is fixed. I repair this error all the time. Depending on the model of camera you have depends on the cost of the repair places like mine some of them offer a trade in upgrade. If you feel that is what you want to do.Cost of repair can be any where from 50 and up on your camera. Hope this helps Let me know if you need any other assistance.

there is a problem wit your lens section, get it repaired with your company professionals. Your camera may be fallen or being pressed from front side by someone. The new ZOOM will give the same best result and no further problems.

After turning it on, it says lens error and shuts

Hi there its happens when the lens not ready for work. Some how its not able to stable his focus method. That's why its happens. There is a chances of lens guide pin disturbed or damaged & thats why continues failure. Its mean he inform you there is a system error. So please visit the service center for repair that. Its a very common & repairable problem. Thanks.

Error lens

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here are some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

The following blog outlines some repair options for a lens error. They won't work for all cases, but they're worth a try if the camera's no longer under warranty:
