OUCH... ok.. do not try to start it again.. you can and will cause more damage! Is it in gear when you are turning it backwards or trying to make it run? (need to eliminate drive line issues)
How long with it run after you turn it backwards? ..will it actually run or just turn over? (turning an outboard backwards will damage the water pump impeller!!)..its something you need in perfect working order!
Remove the spark plugs.. see if there is anything on them except a little carbon....We are checking for damage to the piston/rings area. If there is anything on them but a little carbon, you have found the problem area...
If they plugs are clean, (and NOT new).. then you need to check further..You will need a GOOD mechanic to help you.. I would pull the flywheel to make sure you don't have any broken magnets/stator damage.
If the issue is NOT in the lower unit...then its in the power head. Take it to a professional mechanic.

I don't think you can do anything about the appearance of the head. If its just cosmetic, that shouldn't create any sort of problem with the sound of the head. It sounds like maybe someone played the drum with a ring on their finger. You could try melting some paraffin wax and apply a little with a q-tip. *I would warn that you should test the wax before going all in with that method. It might make things worse. Proceed with caution whatever you do. Even if it improves the appearance, it will eventually return to its natural state. Good luck.
You're probably going to need to remove the fur and examine the leg to see if there is a bent rod or connection joint that you can bend back out. Contact Hasbro's Customer Service for the instructions on how to remove the fur if you're not sure. They may have resources for you such as repair shops locally or in-house repair you might be able to send it for repair. if it is out of warranty, and you did not buy an extended warranty, they may charge for the service. Good luck :)
Sounds to me like it might be more of a leak than repair/sealer can handle. It never hurts to try though. But if it doesn't work, you might have a little more cleanup to do when you pull the head. It may also be a cracked head as opposed to just a head gasket as well. keep thet in mind. A bad head gasket will cause an overtemp, not the other way around. As for the temp gauge, someone may have worked on it before. sounds like it's hooked up backwards. check it out. if the gauge is bad, it's probably cheaper and easier to get an aftermaket one.
My friend bought a Poloroid tv, similiar to yours. The power supply went bad 2 weeks after warranty expired; he had to pay to have a whole new power supply installed - roughly $250. Two weeks later my Toshiba (same age) won't turn on - no lights or anything. Same thing - power supply. Sounds like yours is in the same category. Hopefully you bought the extended warranty.
There is no way to reset it no. I have a problem with mine and to the point of stripping it to the bare bones with can not be done by just anyone we can hope that one day our dogs will snap out of it.
I did fix a friends. Her battery cover was faulty and the screws were not deep enough so didnt go flush to the compartment. I made the screw holes deeper and screwed it right down and its worked fine every since.
