what group set do you have?
Have you looked on the Shimano website? They have a lot of useful information on there, including basic gear setuo details which will generally apply to all groupsets.

Below is a link to the tech docs for the Shimano Alivio system look for the specfic componet you would like to adjust. The links with SI are the Service instructions. EV are the parts lists.

Look on the brake lever for a manufacturer and model number (probably Shimano). Even if you can't establish a model number, go to the website and find the mountain bike shifter that is closest to yours, There will probably be a technical manual for it and it will describe how to install and adjust it. You'll also want to look for and understand the derailleur it controls.

Shimano make an "EZ fire" which is an integrated shifter/brake lever combination and cheaper than buying seperate shifters and levers.

Cant find a repair manual for 2004 wr 250

Go to this site and you can download a free PDF service manual. The site may take up to 20 seconds to load the complete list of manuals. www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp Most all of the manuals are in English but some are not. There is no way to be sure without doing the download. You can always delete it if in a foreign language.

There is a 2002 WR / CR 250 and WR 360 manual in the listings. The service procedures are the same for your 2004 bike. Please take a moment and rate my answer. Thanks!

Shimano Pro computers can be found on the weblink below if you then click on your model (or any model perhaps they are all similar?) you should be able to download the instructions for it.
