Are you using fresh batteries? Are they rechargeable batteries if so do a battery test maybe a battery is weak. With fresh batteries it still does the same thing then call Nikon 1-800-645-6689
1. Press power button while plug in the power cord – green lamp. 2. While hold the power button press resume button twice – orange blink and return to green. 3. Release the power button, Then the PC will recognize new printer install. 4. You need the software for permanent reset. 5. Run the software and select printer port. 6. Then select Set Destination 7. Click MAIN and PLATEN button to reset waste ink counter to zero. 8. Finally test print by click TEST PATTERN button.
It sounds like the flash did not finish or hung while trying, I would think that you just bricked the phone. I have never heard of this test mode of the board, you normally use the keypad on the phone to enter it into test mode. If the phone does not post, I have never heard of a way to get it to reflash.
Try using the "manual" width calibration. With the printer on, press and hold the green button. It will flash once, then twice, e.g. the sequence:
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
after the 5th flash, let go of the button. The printer will begin drawing rectangles which get wider and wider. Press the green button once (don't hold it) to indicate "when" the width is appropriate. However, I found the width was best calibrated when I let the printer draw rectangles right until the edge (where it automatically stops).
