Camara will not power up even with new batteries? Just stopped working while wife was shooting at daughtes birthday pary.

If the product is within the year, warranty would apply especially when you consider cost for out of warranty repair. From your description the problem is more likely the systems control board, "the brains of the camera"

When we turn tv on,it will click right off,and shows a stand by timer light. what could be wrong with this? My tv is 10 years old

Hi. I see this type of problem alot, and this seems to always be the problem.

The vast majority of these are due to capacitors either built itno the power supply, or on the main circuit board.
These capacitors work like a booster battery, giving a sudden charge of electricity all at once, that way it energizes the t.v..
These capacitors seem tro be failing alot, probably due to the fact that alot are manufactured in countries where quality standards aren't what they would be if they had been made here in the U.S.

Good quality capacitors should last around 30 years or so, before failure, however, alot of the are only lasting around 1/3 of that time.

Some are only lasting a couple of years, some are lasting 8-10, but all of them are not lasting to their life expectancy.

I would look at your circuit boards, and look for swollen or exploded capacitors.
If they are exploded, they will look like an exploded battery, where it splits down the side.

This is most likely the condition here.

As for repairing, good quality capacitors are not cheap, and can be the difference between getting it repaired and just buying a new t.v.

I hope this is what you were wanting to know.

I have the same problem, the batteries do not last. Just bought new high quality batteries and put them in. The camara is already showing low battery and turn's itself off (just after putting them in,...

this occurs in any device that uses battery/s in some cases a small short forms that drains the batts there is only two fixs have the fault found by a service tech and repaired ( expensive and very hard to find) or store the batts out of the camera untill its being used now if the batts are not lasting in the camera then its the batterys simple. always remember with units such as camers always always use rechargable batts they give a heck of a lot more power drive than shelff pre charged batts

My kodak md1063 digital camera switches on then straight of,have fitted new battery no difference.

My kodak Easyshare C653 camera is 2.5 years old when suddenly did this a few times then completely refused to turn on at all. Research showed me that this is a firmware issue in Kodak cameras. Kodak website said it will look at it and try to fix it for minimum $70 which is not worth it in my case as I paid $130 for the camera brand new 2.5 years ago. So either pay the $ for kodak to fix or buy a new camera is the solution. I am buying a new camera but it won't be a kodak this time as I want a camera that last years and won't go dead after warranty runs out.

Does your battery work with regular AA alkaline batteries ? They have higher voltage than NiMH rechargeable. I'm having a similar problem, just discovered today that my camera works fine with AA alkaline batteries.
