Question about Optoma EzPro 739 Multimedia Projector

2 Answers

Optoma EP739 Our projector started buzzing a few weeks back and wouldn't work. We assumed it was the bulb and replaced it, but it wasn't. The we noticed that the fan was not spinning, so we ordered the part online, and then today replaced it. Still not working. Upon further disection, we have discovered that there is a sort of color wheel that spins in front of the lens -- a transparent wheel divided into four colored sections. One of our sections had snapped off, and since the wheel is now unbalanced, it is buzzing. What is this part called, and how do we get a new one? Hope you can help! Tammy

I was watching TV on my ep 739 and heard a bang followed by a buzzing noise while the projector began to vibrate. Opened up the unit to find shattered peices of glass strewn about the casing. Its the colora wheel. called optoma support a new wheel costs $99.00 + $18 ground shipping. Or if you send it in they will replace and ship it back for $130, but will probably take 3 weeks or so... anybody know where to get the color wheel for cheaper online?

Is it the correct bulb? Or recommended bulb? Try a higher wattage or lumens. I'm not sure what the lamps in the projectors are called, but check on the wattage and lumens.

EP739 projector has been overheating the last 6 months.

Its getting old...and generating more heat...
There are fans inside the projector that **** in ambient
air and blow it across the parts...A quick fix might be
to lower the room temperatrue a few degrees...or
you could get a small fan, place it along side the projector
and have it blow additional air into the projector...

The projector is running at borderline temperature...

Also, make sure it is on a flat hard surface...and not
resting on a cloth or towel or rug...there isn't much space
between the bottom of the projector...to **** air in...and it
needs all that space...

You may want to make sure the AC line voltage is 110 -120 VAC
even a slight drop in this voltage will cause the projector to run
less efficient which means running hotter...

We have a optoma ep739 used at our local football club;but whenit gets warm it cuts out until it cools down;isthere any filters that need cleaning

take the lamp out, there is a fan directly looking to the lamp... clean it with a compressor. and after that at the menu of projector there is a place called 'High Altitude'. turn it on. And it'll be fine...

Optoma hd65 projector new bulb wont turn on...cant reset timer!

I think it's a lamp driver issue from what I've seen others have gone through. I also read that if you go through the sequence of unplugging, plug back in, wait 20 seconds and try to turn on, multiple times, it will finally kick on and work. I just got mine to turn back on by doing this and waiting through the fan cycling without the light turning on. After the 4th sequence the light flickered. After the 7th sequence it finally turned on and is working. Now I can watch the Super Bowl and will look into replacing soon.

Optoma ep739 color was going greenish so i replced the bulb and now it seems to be getting no power at all? i tried several outlets and still no power, no flashing light, no led, nothing. Any suggestions?

These units have many safety interlocks. First make sure that all of the doors that you opened are replaced correctly. If not, the interlocks will prevent any power from getting to the unit. Update this with what you find.

Optoma HD65 bulb only 108 hrs old having difficulty starting up

Use the warranty! since you anly had it for 8 weeks, and the waaranty last for one year, go back with it and get it repaired or get a new bulb. A buld last at least 2500 hours, in eco mode it last for over 3000 hours.

Good luck to you

Optoma EP739

The lamp cover has a disconnect that wont allow the unit to power on while the cover is off.

Try taking the lamp cover off and bending the little piece of metal you find underneith.

It worked for me.

Can you tell me why the optoma HD72I lamp will turn off after just a few minutes of running, the lamp is still fine

I have the same problem. I got a new bulb and it worked for about 1000 hours, then the new bulb started having the same problem. So, I was about to buy another bulb, and I figured why not try the original bulb. IT WORKED! For a couple weeks... Then it started doing it again. Obviously there was nothing wrong with the original bulb, and there is nothing wrong with the new bulb, but I have 2 bulbs that do it now. So, is there any way to just tell the projector run the bulb till it actually dies and not turn it off because it thinks it is about to die.
