Problem with Nokia 1208
I bought the phone in Russia. it worked there. Seller told me it would work in Canada. Nokia declare that the phone supports the following operating frequencies GSM 900/1800 EGSM 850/1900. I came to Canada and it doesn't work here. "No Network coverage" it writes. I have international roaming indeed. The phone doesn't find a Net even without SIM card inserted. In this case it has to let me do Emergency Call at least. The issue is with the phone itself. What's wrong with it? Is it fixable? Thanks

- That's an idea!Honestly speaking, I was provided with the following expert opinion: "the phone is dual band but it comes in two versions, one for USA/Canada (GSM 850-1900) and one for Europe (GSM 900-1800)" I'm inclined to believe in this. So, the one bought in Russia won't work in Canada. It's a pity that this information is not provided by Nokia themselves. I had to contact with independent experts and to investigate the question myself. Nokia still continue telling me that the one bought in Russia should work in Canada. I find it hard to believe.
Finally, I would like to replace my one for american version. Where can I find a store to get it changed? Is there a one around Toronto?

go to the store here and see if you can have it changed to canada instead of russia
