Viewing pictures on television

When I view pictures on my LCD television, using the cable provided, the pictures look blocky. On my PC they are perfect.
What can be done to improve the quality of the pics when viewed on TV?

Thank You

Mike Cantley.

while recording the movies or taking photos just increase the pixel rate( to some 720 x ..)

does this mean use the "8F" option in quality settings?

I am already using this quality, also the playback quality is not much better when I put the pix on a cd/dvd.

They look great on my PC, but crap on my TV.

Some HD channels won't work on new Samsung tv.

Some hd channels can only be viewed by watching thru a cable box. If you are using a cable box check with your cable provider to see what the issue is.

Logik tv

I just experienced the same issue that is described in the previous post. I went through all of the standard trouble shooting modes.
  • Powered down the LCD
  • Switched HDMI cables
  • Checked and reset all connections (even unrelated devices)
I finally got a picture when I made a straight cable connection. I have a sling box attached through my cable box and noticed that the picture was fine when viewed on my PC. I thought it had to be a problem with the LCD. As a last ditch effort I powered off my DVR box, it must have reset the signal from the cable box to the television because everything is working again. I hope this helps you.

Viewing area is cut off at sides

It's not your tv. It's your cable box setting. Go into settings on your cable remote and set picture size to normal and not zoom or any other setting. Also make sure your picture format is set to 16:9 on your tv. If you cannot figure how to change picture size on your cable box, contact your cable provider. Good Luck.

Cannot view the full picture

First, you have to tell me how the cable box is connected to the TV, by HDMI or component. If it is connected by HDMI, the cable box settings will override the picture size settings on the TV. It may be as simple as resetting the picture size on the cable box, but I am not familiar with the type of cable boxes that Comcast uses.
