Question about Epson Stylus CX6400 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Red exclamation light is on

The screen read the following:

Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. See your printer documentation.

I remember reading online somewhere that it needs to be reset by holding down buttons but I cannot locate the info.........

I had been using non-Epson inkjet cartridges.

I have exactly the same problem, very frustrating, I have tried switching off and restarting, the only difference is that i am using epson ink, except for the black which is a compatable ink.

I am having the same problem - always used Epson ink cartridges. It used to work if I turned it off and then back on but now it isn't. Also today it stopped printing the cyan ink.

Says parts need replacing but they dont how do I get the printer to work

If the error message reads parts inside the printer are at the end of its service life, and both red lights flashing alternately while power light is off, it is an indication that the waste ink pad is full and needs to be replaced. This part is not user replaceable so you need to take in the printer for service.

Epson 830u displays this message and middle button red light flashes! Do you have any ideas? John Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. Contact your dealer for replacement

Epson programmed their printer to monitor the waste ink counter and your printer has reached the maximum value allowed, you have to reset your printer to clear the waste ink counter.

You may read the information regarding "end of life" and "waste ink counter" here: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/InkPadsForm.jsp

To reset the counter, download re-setter program here, install and follow the instruction in the web site.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
