RCA Projection TV model #p61926

Pictuure is not focused, tv screen curves the picture with half upside moon at the bottom and half moon at the top. Each indvidual in the picture has shadows (you can see the layout of the picture behind each figure in the tv) and each text on the tv gets curved so is the tv menu and this is happening on all the connections. Please help Picture sags inward at top and bottom and both sides

Same as described, curves up at bottom and down at top, with "shadows" of each individual color behind the picture elements.

Now that I know what the problem is, how do I fix it, just replace the convergence board? Where do you get those?

The convergence circuit is your problem and most times with this model the convergence power supply bd. is the problem.

Our television just began having what looks like a 'double screen'...or the picture has a 'shadow'...and also looks as though the entire screen 'curves' ..at the top and bottom of the screen it is...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please check whether all the cables from your dish network are fine and connected firmly. If yes then you'll need to pull off the front of the TV, behind the speaker grill there would be a panel. Remove the panel and check for a black box hanging over there. It has 6 controls on it, 3 are marked as focus and 3 as screen. You'll need to adjust the screen. If you turn these too high you can damage the tube. So you need to do only a small adjustment. Turn the color off on the TV and adjust the red, blue & green controls up till you get a fine picture. Also adjust the focus until you get a clear picture.

And, if it doesn't resolve your issue then it is an intermittent blue picture tube, a bad blue driver transistor on the CRT board, a bad connection on the blue CRT board or a problem in the RGB coming from the video jungle IC. The price to resolve the issue will most likely run you about 300 to 500 bucks, unless it is the picture tube.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Magic focus grid not straight.

i'm no expert by any means; but I wonder if it could be as simple as the reflective screening on the inside comming loose. I have a 65" and I took it apart to clean it. The reflective screening looked to me like it could be a weak point. Just a thought.

If the loss of picture is either on top half or bottom half of screen. there are y buffer boards that go from top to bottom on left side of screen when looking at back that control those sections. when there is loss of half of picture then buffer associated with that area would be at fault and would need to be replaced. when i see a degrading symptom such as loss of picture on top half or bottom half leading to no picture issue normally you would check heat syncs on y sustain board and if not heating up after a few minutes of being turned on would recommend replacing y main and both y upper and lower y buffer boards as they complete a circuit
