Tv is dead no light no nothing! Someone told me somthing about the hv splitter ,how do i know if this is bad?

Disconnect the lead from the flyback to the splitter. Place the flyback lead securely in a dry glass container and try to power up the set. If it doesnt shutdown the HV Block (splitter) is bad.
