Question about Honeywell Programmable Thermostat Heater

Wiring a Honeywell Deluxe Programmable Thermonstat

I have a Braemar Ducted Gas Heating System, Model no. TB65N with a Honeywell Deluxe Programmable Thermostat control panel. There are two wires that come out the wall, one is just red and the other is red down one side and black the other side.
Which wire connects to which letter on the control panel?
From left to right the letters are R, RC, H or W (letter is a bit smugged), Y, G.
Could you possible help me out? Thanks.

Did you mark which terminals you removed the wires from on the old stat? If not you will need to look on the furnace and see what letters they are connected to .. then connect to the same on the thermostat.

I bought new Honeywell non programmable, letters are different.

If you have a 5 wire thermostat then you have a two transformer system a cooling transformer and a heating transformer.
The cooling transformer wires to Rc - Y - G,
and the heating transformer wires to R - W the R terminal heating would be the #4 terminal from the old stat.

Honeywell RTH230B will not call for heat.

On a call for heat an internal switch should connect Rh and W, if it does not the stat is bad. Try it with no wires connected.

Solution #2 as above worked (thank you very much!) to get to the programming mode, but on mine keeping Function #13 on the default setting of "0" maintained the AIR.  Toggling the Temp button to "1" changed the system to conventional on/off at the programmed times.
