If you have a cable or sat box, the vcr should be on channel 3 to record. if this setting is right, check to see if the tab on the left side of the tape is broken off. if it is, just put a piece of tape over it
hope this helps

VCR won't record, just ejects tape

You have not mentioned the make and model number of the vcr. Any way the problem is due to end sensor or related circuit. End sensors are photo diods which you can check the shorting with a multy meter.

How to record on vcr/dvd combo I set the timer program to record on the vcr but nothing happen, I can record by hitting the record button, but unable to get the timer to work. I received the vcr/dvd combo...

First make sure the internal clock is setup correctly observing am/pm. Then try recording something so you can watch the operation to see if it works. Make sure you have a tape you can record on and also make sure the write protect tab has not been removed from the front lower corner of the tape. Good Luck! I hope you now have success!

Cannot tape on vcr with new dvd-vcr player

You need to route the signal from the cable modulator to the DVR and then to the TV to be able to view and record. If this is done you will be able to watch what you are recording. When you are not recording, the signal will go through the DVR to the TV.
Please change the cabling and you should have what you want.

Dubbing from VCR to VCR

you should just have to plug the first vcr using the RCA jacks,(yellow, red, white). into the second vcr. so the output from the first vcr to the input of the other. then if you want to watch it while its recording though its not necassary you just plug the video/audio out of the second vcr into the tv. So the first vcr you play the tape in and the second you put the blank tape in and press record.
Thats all there is to it.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Lee

Make sure the cables going from the cable box to the vcr are not loose as well as the ones from the vcr to the tv.

Sylvania SRD4900 DVD/VCR combo problem

Hi I am Temperance MI and I see this mode in my shop often, does any onscreen menu come up when using the remote and
going into menu? If not maybe the remote is bad, common just
a loose battery lead, If you are able to go into menu, and set the
clock, but unable to set timer record, look closely at you recordable tape to make sure on the left bottom from corner the
the recording tab is in place, You can place scotch tape over this hole of existing tab to ensure it will go into record. Finally
if it wont go into record when you try to use OTR, you
make a problem with the record ready switch in the VCR section. Joe . East Electronics, Temperance MI
