How can I scan for channels on my TV if my remote for my digitalstream convertor box is broke?

Without a remote control, you can't. To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability. Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the sites Check this site too.

My son somehow managed to lock our telefunken TV with buttons he pressed on the sides we battling to get our remote fixed as he broke that as well how do we unlock the tv without using a remote.

Without a remote control, you can,t. If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.

Got a Panasonic CD stereo system SA-AK410 When I turn it off after a few seconds it turns back on. Is this normal?

That's because you haven't set the clock on the system. I jumps to DEMO mode once you turn it off without the clock set. Clock can be set through your remote. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Probably you can't. That's a big pet peeve of mine with A/V equipment these days- so much of the control is by remote only and if it dies your machine is almost useless

Setting the clock

Use an Aiwa Hifi Remote Control...Turn on the L300 (without any DVD on the player). Wait until in the TV appears "No Disc" Open the tray and put a DVD from other region (not zone 1), don't close the tray!!!. On the remote control of the Aiwa press the "Clock" button, in some remote control you must do a button combination like "Shift+9" (Is the combination to see the clock, do the combination fast), and in other model of Aiwa remote control doesn't appear the clock button, you must try with the "random" button. If you do it right, in the corner of TV where "No Disc" appears it will say "adjust complete".
