You should probably open it with Wordpad for the least hassle if you want to save the XML document after you altered the premissions in properties.

How to use Notepad++vs6.4.2

The easiest way to open a new document is to press Ctrl and N together. Then press Ctrl + S to save the file. The default title will be new with a number. Press Ctrl+Alt+S to get the File Save As option to rename your document. Use the Find and replace command to remove the desired text (Ctrl+H from the keyboad). NotePad++ can have a Menu Bar and Tool Bar displayed or hide them. Many like to use the keyboard commands and hide the toolbars. If the Menu Bar is open, File > New. From the Tools bar, click on the page symbol with the green + on the left side of the bar.
The full manual is available as a compressed PDF or a compressed HTML file. See: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/notepad-plus/index.php?title=NP%2B%2B_Guides . For either file, you will need to use your preferred zip program to extract the file. (In most Windows versions, right click on the file after saving it to the Desktop or your Downloads directory and choose Extract All.) Then use Adobe Reader or a similar program to read the PDF manual. Use your preferred browser to read the HTML version. A full list of the keyboard commands is available here: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/notepad-plus/index.php?title=Keyboard_And_Mouse_Shortcuts .
Nearly any editor will do what you want to do. In Windows, the Notepad may not hold enough lines for this. WordPad probably would work (that's the default .DOC reader). Just remember to save as plain text if you don't want to have an Rich Text Formatted document.
I hope this helps.

How to create a batch file on windows xp.

To create a batch file that would be very helpful I suggest downloading notepad++ it's made for programming.First off open up notepad++ and go to
languages and click on batch then type in "@echo off" at the beginning of every batch file you need to type that in.Next type in:
______________________________________________________________

@echo off
echo.
echo What would you like to do today?
echo.
echo 1)Notepad
echo 2)Paint
echo 3)Calculator
echo.

set /p web=Type in Option:
if "%web%"=="1" ("%SystemRoot%\system32\notepad.exe") else (exit)
if "%web%"=="2" ("%SystemRoot%\system32\mspaint.exe") else (exit)
if "%web%"=="3" ("%SystemRoot%\system32\calc.exe") else (exit)

______________________________________________________________

You just created a batch file menu now save this file to the desktop as
"Menu.bat".Now that you have the file saved download this free batch file compiler called "battoexe" so nobody can edit or destroy you batch files.
That's it you have made your first batch file visit my website at www.wix.com/Firestorm002/Batch101.

If the files has fxp extension, you cannot print them because they are compiled.
If they has prg extension, you can open them via notepad or wordpad, right clicking on them choosing Open With option. From there you can select Notepad or Wordpad application. Be sure that Always use the selected program......... be unchecked.

My pc doesn't have misrosoft word..

MS Office will cost you money
If you need an office program for free; try Open Office, it is free
Note: when you save your files you can save them with MS Office extensions
the only problem is when you open the files the convert back to Open Office which changes the extension
when you save the changes, go to file/ save as, delete the .doc from the file name in the first box and change to MS Word to redo the extension
otherwise your changes won't be saved

That's bad! One .... is to re-install the Operating System and install the MS Office 2003 to start it again on Trial version mode. OR
Two.... Purchase a license for your MS Office 2003 software. OR
Three ... You have to crack MS Office 2003, visit astalavista.com to learn more on how to crack files, or you can download product keys from it.

Hope this helps... good luck!!!
