Pioneer sd-p5065 won't power up

When I plug in the power, the relays click on then off. Some times I can plug it in, hit the power button and get the same results. I have pulled the power supply board and checked and resoldered cold connections. Found 1 cracked soldier, but it still does the same.
This is manufactured in 4-92 , model sd-p5065 pioneer.
I can't find an online manual. I have a little knowhow of the basics. I can't see any burnt capasitors or popped resistors, but if I could get help to test volt and ohlm levels, and led in the right direction, I think it would be doable.
I'm trying to get this working to hook it up as a dedicted gaming tv.
Please advise. Larry lrcargill@comcast.net

Good hints Paul, I had him on Live Chat for a while but lost him somewhere. We parted with him checking the HOuts off board since he has access to a soldering iron and a desolderer. I have initially briefed him on the B-C-E forward and reverse testing as well as the possibility of the B-E resistor and C-E shunt diode which might throw him off.

@ LRCARGILL,

Any developments with your unit?

Cheers all.

Hi i tried answering your chat session but didnt answer quick enough the best place to look is near where the power lead goes into the telly where it goes into the board you will find transistors these will need checking as the do cause the kind of problem your having so check these you can find out the sort of readings you should get by using search engine and type in testing transistors this should give you some sort of idea on what results you should get ok.
Also have you typed in schematics for (then give make and model )see if this locates the schematics for your telly often this helps and does find them i have came across all the ones i need this way

I have a Pioneer VSX-515-K A/V Reciever. When I plug it in the power relay clicks continuously. I don't have the schematic to troubleshoot the circuit. I just want to make sure it is the relay that's bad...

A bad relay won't pick and release itself. You need to find the cause.

Here's the Service manual.

Turning on SD-P403 Pioneer projection tv

Take off back cover. The problem power board is to the right of the board where the power plug feeds into the TV. There is a large white fuse right bend the power plug. With a meter it read ok; about 8 inches deeper into the TV on that board was the resister next to two fuses. My 4 amp 125 volt fuse did not read on my meter. After replacing, it worked fine.
