all i get on my tv when unit is turned on is half the screen black & half White,sometimes coulors flashing at bottom of screen

Turn the player OFF at the mains, leave it off for a few minutes. Power it up again. If the problem is still there, it's time for a service! The TEVION logo should display at turnon when no disc is in the unit. If that comes up, then try a disc.
This is assuming you have everything connected correctly. And the player should be the ONLY device connected to any particular AV input.
You might also try it on another TV.. maybe the TV is the problem?
