That has happened to me twice, the only thing that you can try is to change the setting to make sure that its not on DEFROST setting, and if this is fine, they I recommend U to get a new Microwave. :)

My microwave heats, but the surface light and interior light don't light up and the turn table doesn't rotate. Everything else seems to be working fine. What is the best way to trouble shoot the problem?

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

  • Light bulbIf your microwave light bulb is not working, perhaps it has blown. The first step is to replace the bulb and power on the microwave. If this does not correct the issue, the next step is to check the socket and wiring to verify if that is the problem.
  • Light bulb socket & main control boardIf your microwave light bulb is not working after the installation of a new bulb, check the light socket as well as the wiring to ensure they are properly operating. If these sources are functioning properly, the next step is to check for a faulty control board as a possible root cause to your microwave light bulb malfunction

Frigidaire FMV156DC 950 Microwave sometimes stops heating

This sounds like a common primary interlock switch. Need to check and or replace both door switches. DISCHARGE high voltage components first with no power applied prior to touching anything in the unit. Failure to discharge High Voltage Components can result in death

I have a combination oven/microwave but the microwave is not working? what should I do?

It is most likely one of three things, magnetron "heats food" cracked high voltage diode, or a shorted high voltage capacitor. I recommend a professional to assess, chances are cheaper to replace microwave oven.

All the controls work and seems to be working with tray rotating but makes noise and does not cook

Having noise means some obstruction near the rotating tray or its motor need some lubricant. Has for no cook but control seems working, the magnetron and its fuses is the culprit because it doesn't anymore produce heat to cook food.
I hope that advice help you.

Everything seems to be working except it won't heat anything it just suddenly stopped heating.

Did anything spill or blowup inside? Remove the glass tray and be sure all is clean and dry.
If something did blow up (food or liquid), find the small mica window on the inside, and carefully remove it, clean up, dry off in the cavity too, and replace it.
Try to use. This has fixed 3 different microwaves for me. Hope it helps you.

    MH1160 Whirlpool Microwave Stopped Heating

Are you getting 110VAC on the primary leads of the high voltage transformer when you press "Start" to begin cooking?

If not, yhen it may simply be a bad cook relay (I do board repair) or a bad bottom or inside top door switch. See

    Microwave Quit Heating

The Magnotron goes out on many of the lower priced models in the first yr.,(and some of the higher end ones too!) As the components there do most of the hard work. Better to just find a recycler who takes them and scrap it.
As for the replacement that sounds like an excellent idea!
