Question about Whirlpool RF368 Electric Kitchen Range

Oven light problem

When changing a non working bulb in the oven I noticed the filament seemed ok so tried it in a lamp and it worked. I put it back in the oven and it came on. however when I put the protective cover back on it stops working. I tried this with the new bulb and the old bulb and it repeated every time. Works fine until the protective cover goes back on then stops working all together. What is the issue? Is it ok to use without the cover?

Sure you can use with out back cover, sounds as if connection inside socket is loose( not making contact with bottom of light bulb securely

I tried to change the light bulb in the oven, thought I had the power turned off, I did not. The bulb socket sparked, nothing seemed to happen but now my controls on top of my kitchen aid KESC300 electric...

Hello- Glass bulbs don't make very good handles, do they? Find a good tech to check wiring behind bulb socket. May have burned a connection, and or grounded a wire somewhere. Electric ranges have two 110v circuits that work in combination. One is out. Let me know if info helps- have more if needed- Thanks- ED

75585891 gas range will not preheat oven. Everything seems to work. but oven will not show that it is preheated.

If I understand it is working just no lighting the preheat lamp? May just be a burned out lamp. Connect a jumper from any of the other indicators to the preheat. If it lights there is a problem in the oven control/thermostat. If it does not light when the other lamp you connected to it lights, it is the lamp.

Oven light

I had the same problem and worked on it for HOURS! Spray a tiny bit of WD40 on the glass fixture near the back of the oven. Wait a couple minutes and it will finally "give" and turn counter-clock wise. This part was clearly OVERLY tightened by the manufacturer.

Yes loose connnection or the socket is no good. Or you have some faulty light bulbs.

Oven not working

I believe that the oven dial that turns to start the oven not cleaning has either a loose connection on the back or that the dial is faulty and will need replacing.
