Re: Load new reel of paper
Assuming that you know where the paper gets feed in, I usually use this trick to start a new roll of paper. First, tear off the end of the new roll so that there isn't any glue stuck on the paper. Then, fold the tip of the paper like an arrow. > (Fold one side to the middle and the other side to the middle so both sides meet in the middle. Then, place the paper into the slot where the paper feeds in.. (Usually goes under the printer assembly) and then hit the PAPER FEED button at the same time. If the paper is in the correct slot, the paper should start feeding the paper all the way through. Hope this helps. Have a good day. M =)

Here is what I've found out by trial and error.
Paper Roll Won't Load:
-Usually occurs when the roll is less than 50% full
-Printer will give the error "paper loaded askew"
To Correct This:
- Press and hold Stop until Job Cancel comes up on the
- Press Menu
o Scroll Down until Adjust Printer menu comes up
o Press right side arrow next to OK button
o Scroll down to Manual Band Adjust and press right side
arrow again (or select one of the other adjustments)
- Select Yes and press OK
- Load paper roll - make sure paper is straight
- When asked (printer will beep) select Plain Paper and
- Let paper load
- When printer starts to print press and hold Stop to cancel
- Paper should now be loaded
When all else fails load a new roll.
This would be a temporary solution until the sensor is fixed.
This printer is very finicky about paper loading. I see this error most commonly when using auto-cut roll paper. If the paper edge is not cut perfectly straight, and it is not inserted into the printer perfectly strait, it will give you an error. When it does this, you can simply load the paper and press "cut" instead of "pause" when it says "press pause" and it will cut the paper straight. You can also set it to "Roll Paper Manual Cut" and load the paper, then set it back to "Roll Paper Auto Cut."
I know this product and I have serviced it before.
I am a retired Xerox Service Representative.
Can you give me more details about this area.
I am not familiar, "by a roll of paper."
This machine can be fitted with one or two paper trays and has a by-pass feed tray, and a document feeder.
I do not know of roll paper that can be fed in this machine.
Thank you, I ook forward in hearing from you to resove this problem.
There is a small **** right where the paper roll gets installed - it looks like the seam between the top and the bottom of the calculator. The paper feeds from the roll directly into this - maer sure you have a very clean edge to start with - then turn on the print function and push a button until it starts to feed through. Be patient with it but it will work.
Chances are the film had quite a bit of curl to it (often a sign of old film) and it was not pulled over quite far enough during auto loading, or perhaps too far and it had too much slack that the take up reel never grabbed it to advance it thru. You're not the first one this has happened to as the auto load is not as reliable as the older style where you had to load the film leader through a slot in the take up reel.
1. The end of the paper roll can be cut on either a straight-edge
or angled slant.
2. Remove the top cover of the calculator.
3. Insert the paper into the narrow back slit on the back of the
calculator so that it feeds under the black plastic plate. The
slit is located on the outside of calculator.
4. Use the Paper FEED button to advance the paper up.
5. Replace the cover and feed the paper through the cover opening.
Hope this helps. Slit for paper is not immediately obvious, so
don't put yourself down.
