Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook

Sound Skipping: Over the last week I've noticed that any time I play media on my computer it seems to skip. I thought it was a problem with my media player but I have tried playing media on Winamp, iTunes, Windows Media Player and Media Jukebox and the skipping continues. I'm certain it's not a problem with corrupt files because the skipping also occurs on websites like YouTube. A friend suggested it was a problem with my soundcard or drivers. I troubleshooted/troubleshot/whatev but the computer says all the devices are working properly. I also reinstalled the audio driver but that didn't help either. Is there anything else I can do? ETA: I'm not having any problems with net usage or other programs in terms of speed. In fact, all my media programs seem to be working fine as well. It's just when I play music/video files that I encounter the skipping problem. I hope this makes things a bit clearer.

I have downloaded and installed the latest version of my driver but it did not resolve the skipping issue.

I found that this problem is actually related to the CPU frequency being dynamically ajusted to decrease power consumption. To prove my point try downloading something like prime95 www.mersenne.org that will load your cpu and keep it close to 100% use. Lower the priority of prime to idle and play your audio file and you should no longer have any skips. The only problem with this solution is that it is power consuming and not environment friendly at all... I'm still looking for a definite fix.
