Question about Teac CD-X8 CD Shelf System

1 Answer

Buzz from speakers or headphone when CD is played.

The radio works fine but as soon as you press play it starts buzzing whether the cd is spinning or not.

The power cable is factory and aligned like they say. It only affects the CD part not the radio.

This is due to improper insulation of wires or improper isolation of power unit with the rest of the unit.

Thankyou

Else it is due to wear and tear of poor capacitors, if the capaciors dont filter harmonics such buzzing is prone to occur...!!!

It is generally not fixable by a lay man.. its very rare to find technicians to solve this problem, because this due to poor design of the manufacturer...!!!

    Thankyou

When I play a CD I get a buzzing sound. The sound starts as soon as I hit the play button (and before the CD is actually moving.) It gets louder once the CD starts playing. The sound is coming through...

Buzzing is usally AC line noise leaking into an un-shielded cable somewhere or a floating ground. If the AC plug is reversible, try that. Sometimes the buzz is from an attached device. Make sure all audio cables are plugged in tightly at each end and routed away from or at right angles to any power cords and away from other sources of strong magnetic fields like TV's. I've also seen variable track lights induce noise but it's usually minor.

I can not hear anything accept for buzzing on the spaekers wether I am trying to play radio, tape, cd or nothing at all.

Hello Sir, hi, the buzzing sound is a sign of an amplifier IC failure, this IC amp needs to be replaced. (this requires finding the spare part and soldering and desoldering that part, so a tech person is needed) have it serviced by an electronics tech guy.

There is no sound in the left speaker when i play LP's. When i play CD's and the radio both speakers work, but when i play records sound only comes out of the right speaker. What's up with that?

Two possible reasons. First a faulty cartridge. With the amp on the phono setting, lift the arm up and you should see wires coming out of the cartridge. Make a note of how they fit or remove them from it one at a time. With your finger touching each wire, you should hear a buzz on at least two of the wires (one on the left and one on the right). If you do then the cartridge has gone! If you still don't get a buzz on the left, then the cartridge pre-amp has failed. Most likely an IC.

There are some repair instructions available at www.AnyoneCanFixIt.com in the electronics section that will show you how to release the CD magazine and fix the problem where the unit will not play the CDs (you will hear a buzzing, buzzing, buzzing, and nothing will load or play).

Buzz or annoyign static sound from speakers when CD is played

you can either use good quality thick insulated wires, also keep the power source far from speakers also try to keep the speakers little away from main unit.

Thankyou

Buzzing noise

Of course it will stop buzzing when you mute the speakers. From the limited description, it could be anything from a power supply to loose wires in the system between the speaker leads and the motherboard. Best bet is to take it in to a technician and get a pro's answer. If he wants to charge more than what it's worth to you, get a new one.

Something spinning

1. Check all cable connections to make sure they're secure. 2. Replace the cable connecting the CD unit to your receiver. 3. Clean the contacts on the player and receiver with electronics-grade contact cleaner. good luck
