I'm trying to hook up a set of boston 735 speakers to my computer with no luck. Everything with the speakers appear to bo be ok. The green plug that hooks up to the computer has only one line around the jack where as my old speakers has two lines around the jack. Is this my problem and if it is is there an easy fix? thanks for any help!

I have the Boston Digital BA735 speakers. They came with my Gateway computer which I no longer have. I have an Insignia computer now. Same problem. I unplug the working speakers and plug in the Boston and no sound. I plug the other speakers back in and sound. By the way the power is on with the Boston speakers. Do they require a proprietery sound card? Or what?

I have the same speaker set and also had mine with an old gateway and now on the new dell, there's no sound. Everything is hooked up right and the green light comes on like they are on, but no sound. Is there installation software that I need to reinstall on the new computer or something? Help!

what if it doesn't work with an MP3 player.. everything is hooked up correctly.. you can hear fuzz when you turn the volume up, and both of the green power lights are on?

Wrong --- I have the exact same problem and have already checked all of the areas proposed in the solution. The solution is no solution. I will keep checking for better advice.

My BA735's worked well on my windows 98 Gateway Computer, but they don't work on my new computer by HP with windows vista. The monitor has speakers, but I can't turn them off. I can mute them, but I can't turn then off. Is that the problem?

Had these speakers with an old Gateway. When I upgraded to a new HP, the speakers did not work. I found that the model I have has a digital input only. My old soundcard (Soundblaster Live!) was digital, my new one is analog. If your BA735 model has one input (digital), and an analog output soundcard, you are probably out of luck.

Dear oneeyemike77

I am sure that it is not due to one line around. Just check weather the power is on and also check the sound settings on ur pc, it may have been muted or the sound level must have been reduced. You can also check your speakers by connecting it to a mini player or a mp3 player. Dont worry pal, this will surely get u working....!!! Please rate me.

Thankyou

I have boston acoustics BA735 speakers that I want to hook up to my new computer, but I need to plug them into a usb port. the speaker cable only has a standard plug. Are there converters available?

doesn't your computer have a standard audio output port?

I'm fairly sure it must have one......if not, try using the Headphone plug.

sometimes it's a dual output.......stereo/headphones.

The BA 735 speakers that came with the old Gateway I have does not work with the new iMAC

The BA 735 Speakers I have are purely digital and will only work if your soundcard has a digital output, will not work through analogue connection.
