I need instructions on homw to change the timing

To get to the water pump on the Protege, you need to remove the timing belt also. This is not a job for the beginner, but if you are willing to give it a go, here is some info that you may find useful. CLICK HERE

when you take the ac belt of there is also a pully that you need to adjust so you can slide the belt around that as well / reminder loosen compressor bolts so that you can manuever the belt around that and then get the tension by pulling the compressor up
