I ahve the same issue, water is leaking from top through the "air vent" i am assuming down onto the top shelf and then pooling under the cripser. I think it might need the drain tube cleaned as i don't have ice and water in the door or a tank. Any advice would be great!

I have a Kenmore freezer on top fridge and it just started a few weeks ago leaking water that builds up on the glass shelves inside. I read online that the drains might be plugged having to do with the automatic defroster on the unit but i emptied out the entire freezer and cannot find a drain to unplug??? Anyone know how to fix this or where to find the drains etc to clean? Or if this can be stopped or does it mean time for a new fridge!

The channel that collects the water from dehumidifying the refrig runs behind the crisper drawers to a plastic tube. We had to unscrew that channel and recaulk it to make it water tight. Also, pouring hot water and using a pipe cleaner in the plastic tube will clear a blockage if one is there.

On my kenmore fridge 970-671020 there is a continuous water pooling on the bottom where the crispers are ...how do we fix it

not a good model number,if the freezer is on top and water is under the crispers you have a blocked drain in the freezer, when the machine goes into defrost a heater comes on and melts all frost off of the evaporator coil, the water goes down a drain hose down to where the compressor and condenser coil is and evaporates, you drain is blocked and the water is leaking into fridge section.remove everything from freezer, shut it down first or unplug it,remove the back inside wall of freezer, look under the coil and you'll see ice, melt it out with hair dryer and remove any ice on freezer floor, then heat up the drain hole, you can stick a screw driver into the hole,it will help melt the ice out,i use a steemer to do this job,if you don't have one use anything that will push air into the hole like a turkey baster, when you think it's clear pour hot water into hole,if it drains down you're done,if not keep hitting it,you can open the fridge door and heat up the center part of ceiling and back wall, this is also where drain is,if it happens again you can buy a heater probe or make one out of a piece of copper wire like the ground wire in house electrical wire, cut like a six inch piece, stick it into the drain hole and rap the other end around the heater, when the heater comes on the copper will heat up to keep the drain open,if the heater is glass there will be a metal cover, connect the copper to the metal and it will be fine.good luck,if you need more helplet me know.salde

Why is water pooling under right crisper?

On defrost refrigerators water is drained down the sides to an outlet on the bottom of the interior of the unit and then to a tray under the unit, close to the floor, where it is heated and evaporates.
If he hole inside is plugged then the water will pool inside.
Take out both crispers and try to find the location where the water will flow out. It may be plugged with gunk The inside bottom of the unit may have indented runs where the water will be directed to the outlet.

lokk under the crisper draws,if there's water under them you have a blocked drain in the freezer.if there's no water under the crispers check the pastic water lines going to the water valve and the ice maker.if it's the drainyou have to pull everything out of the freezer, remove the inside back wall of the freezer and melt out all the ice with a hair dryer then you have to clear the drain,i use a steemer to do this, you can use a turkey baster or anything will push air down into the drain hole, pour hot water into the hole and when the water goes down the drain you'll know it's clear.before you start you can advance the timer into defrost to help melt out the ice or shut down the control or unplug it,you don't want it to be running while you take it apart.hope this helps you figure out where the water is leaking from.

Water comes off somewhere in the bottom of my fridge. what could have caused it?

When your refrig goes into defrost , the water runs down the back of the refrig ( inside ) and out to the drip pan thru a drain hole under the crispers . If water is under the crispers , remove the crispers and you should see a " cap " covering the drain hole . Sometimes crud will cover the slots where the water is supposed to drain , causing water to pool under the crispers . Just remove this cap , clean , and reinstall .

My fridge is leaking from the bottom or the back i dont know which yet. but i see water on the right back corner on the floor. any idea what this could be

Greetings,
I guess, I need to know if its the floor of the refrigerator, or kitchen floor? if floor of refrigerator. Its most likely a drain issue..The defrost system melts the ice and that water flows into a drain. these become clogged from food particles and stop up. The water then travels the path of least resistence and ends up down inside refrigerator. The solution is to open up drain and usually all is well..

Now, if its just on the floor. we have to check all the obvious. it still could be the drain and water could be running out from under crispers onto the floor. So, check that first...if not, check the connections at icemaker valve (if you have one) again, check water line if you have one....make sure the drain hose is in the drain pan...sometimes the drain pan sits above the compressor and heat evaporates the water...these pans get a hole in them I hope this helps..let me know if you need any clarifications....Bruce

Clean the drain pan and drain line in the back of the freezer section underneath the evaporator coil. Make sure water drains when you pour it in. If it doesn't - also clean drain tube on the back of the unit behind the cover. When done - make sure to put the tube exactly where it was.
Good luck! :)

Water leaks down back of frig and pools under veg crisper

there is a drain hose that drains the frost from the freezer down to a drain in the botton of your refrigerator. then: to the evaporator tray under your refrigerator If the tube or, drain get clogged the water has no where to go and, pools in the refrigerator To fix this clean the hose with a coathanger or, stiff wire If you do not know where the hose is see the parts diagram for your refrigerator at: searspartsdirect.com
