Wow, thanks a bunch yoviejo your iinstructions were bang on ! It wasnt the belt on my machine either. I was able to wedge something just under the board and it gave just enough to make a proper connection. LOL happy about vacuuming, Well at least now my son can clean his room. Thanks

Under the lamp bulbs there is a piece of foil covering the screw that is accessible from the top, inside the lamp housing.

What I found was that the belt was fine, but the microswitch position was too far out so the plastic cam did not push it in far enough to close the switch.

After cleaning the control board of debris I forced it a little closer with a screw behind the rear edge as a wedge,

So far so good.

On each side of the top, on the back, there is a screw, take them out and the top will lift up from the back to the front. Then you can get to the belt.

I think the manual can help you in replugging the wires

How did you pull out the wires from circuit board ?
Is it with professional help or through some other means

Replace belt on fantom cyclone vacuum? the manual does not decribe replacing the roller belt - i can't get it open to expose the belt

On my 10-year-old model, the two screws securing the cover are under the two llight bulbs. Pry off the clear plastic covers, take out the bulbs and screws, and the cover lifts off.

I am trying to get to the belt on my fantom cyclone xt, although I am unable to see any screws to remove. I took the rubber bumper off thinking this would be of some help although nothing there either. Can...

remove the lens covers, bulbs and the foil. under the foil are two screws. remove the screws and the cover lifts off. the motor for the belt is held in with one screw.

How do i replace the belt in the Fantom Cyclone XT vacuum

remove the covers over the headlights and under the shiny foul. there are two screws. there are two tabs that hold down the cover over the wheels, they just pop on/off with a click.
on my xt. i had to remove the rolling brush and clean out all the hair that was stuck in the bearings. remove the screw holding down the motor and belt. pry out the roller brush to get to the bearings. there was some serious hair ball in there.
reassembled mine and it works perfectly now :)
