Problem for GE Security Simon 3 Wireless Home Security System
System Low Battery
I just bought a brand new GE Wireless Simon 3 security system and ever since it was set up the system status light is always lit and it says "System Low Battery". Its brand new though and the manuel states the batteries usually lst 2 - 3 years. What can I do or do I need a new battery?? Also, probably because there is a low battery...when i select no entry delay and open a window the alarm/siren doesn't go off. It said in the manuel it might not if your system is on low battery.. so that could be why but I just don't understand why I am having so many problems so soon!!

- Same issue - tried doing as person suggested - it worked for a couple days and then went back to low battery. Switched batteries again and tried powering down. Still have low battery issue.- jcram1212Feb 17, 2008
- I have exactly the same problem. It is caused by plugging the transformer in before connecting the battery. Simon not the problem in their manual but amazingly offer no solution.It can also be cause if the battery is disconnected to stop the alarm going off.- Treydar

Response 1 is correct. If you plugged the transformer into an outlet before connecting the battery the system wont see the battery and give you that error. Should be a simple fix however. Unplug the battery and then the transformer, then reverse the process. Plug in the battery and your Simon should power up, then plug in the transformer. If this doesn't help then you should replace the battery. Did you buy the system from a dealer and have it professionally installed or did you do-it-yourself? If it was professionally installed have your technician come back out to diagnose/replace the battery if needed. Good Luck.
