My microwave (DMW1147SS Danby) doesn't work when the door is closed, however when I open the cover door the microwave starts with the lights on, a weak power and the plate turns very slowly, what can I do?

First of all, DON'T operate it with the door open! Too many zombies in the world already. Seriously though, if your unit is operating with the door open, it may be a faulty door switch or control board, both of which would require a professional to troubleshoot and replace. If your unit costs less than $400, just replace it and rest easy. If it's a high-dollar unit, it may be worth having someone to look at it. But make sure you take it to a pro, not a parts-changer.

I have a GE profile spacemaker xl 1800 microwave. I used it once this morning but then upon a second use some time after, there was nothing on the display, as if power was lost on it. I opened the door and...

The door switch may have become defective, cutting off power completely. When the oven restarts, it prompts you to set the clock just as it would if there had been a power interruption. It is possible that something has failed in the control logic and that probably will require attention from a repair technician.

It is one of two things, a defective door switch, or the keypad control board has failed.

Our Microwave keeps running unless we give it a whack!

Hi firstly to see if it is producing energy, buy some 5mm light emitting diodes from an electronics store. cut off the leads close to the plastic body.
place in microwave and put on cook for max 10 secs, if the led's light up you have microwave energy, shut off the oven as soon as they glow otherwise you end up with a mess.
If you have energy then your problem is most probably the door interlock micro switches which after time do not operate properly. let me know the results and we can go further.

No heating, no clock, no timer, otherwise fine!

One of your door interlock switches is defective . I would suggest having it repaired by a qualified repair tech in your area.
