Here is the scanner driver for your XP: http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?i=6929310000. This DOES NOT INCLUDE THE SCANNING SOFTWARE! You must scan the document from another program such as MS Publisher, Photoshop, etc. You can look online for free or commercial scanning software.

I have a dell Inspiron D530S computer with Windows Vista. I keep getting a alert that say's that I have Low disk Space on my Recovery D.How do I clean out this Recvery D program and restore it back to...

The alert is a notification that your Hard Disk(HDD) space is almost fill up. You should not remove or delete the "Recovery D Program"! , if you do not have any copy of Recovery CD, just in case of emegency if your PC/Laptop have any booting problems. Dell embedded the "Recovery D" because they do not give you any "Recovery Disk" in a CD/DVD form nowdays. On the safe side make a copy of the recovery disk.

Options you can do is to reduce you data on the HDD, by
1. You can uninstall programs you don't use.
2. Transfer your data to another external media

Alternatively you can upgrade your PC/Laptop with a bigger capacity HDD, and fresh install Windows on it.

Cant scan

Try to scan with Preview or Image Capture apps (in your Applications folder).

If that does not work, try deleting and re-adding the printer in the print queue:

- Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
- Select the printer in question and click the minus sign at the bottom of the list
- Select the plus sign to re-add it. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

If this does not work, do the same thing, only instead of the second step, right (control) click the print queue area and select Reset Printing System

Reformating laptop

If you don't own the OS installation disks you are going to have to purchase them. The drivers and utilities for each machine could possibly be downloaded from the computer manufacturers web sites.
Windows can be purchased at a computer retailer like Best Buy, the drivers and utilities you will have to download from web sites of the companies that built your computers.

How to reformat a notebook laptop with no CD-driver?

Remove the hard-disk - it will usually connect via an IDE or SATA-compatible interface. You can then connect it to a computer (internally, or via eSata / USB / 1394 enclosure). You can then format it from that computer.

When you say no CD-driver, do you mean Driver or Drive?

if there's no CD drive, it should either have a floppy drive (in which case, any system book disk can re-format the HDD), or USB-booting capabilities.

If there's no driver, than a Windows 2000 / XP CD should be able reformat the disk - when you boot from it, it will load drivers off the CD. You don't need to install Windows normally, the recovery console can format disks.
A Windows 95/98/ME boot disk/CD will allow formatting, but only in FAT/FAT32 file systems (you will probably want NTFS, which 2000 and XP can create)

Install back up cd's

Data is just data.

If your laptop is working correctly, then just insert the CD, and copy files from the CD onto the hard-drive.

If you created "system-restore" CDs, they can be used only to "restore" the factory-setup on the SAME computer, not a different computer, i.e., your laptop.

Maybe your Microsoft Office disk needs cleaning. Clean it using a disk cleaner and try loading it again. It might have some scratch on it.
