My camera has just started doing that same thing when it takes the picture it has a white something over half of it . I tried doing different things the only thing I found to be a little helpfull was pushing the AEL button 2 or 3 times before I would take another and sometimes it would take without the white thing over the picture but it would be really green looking. I'd love to know what to do for it!

My 4 year old S7000 just started the same thing. I read it is the CCD. I'm taking it in today.

.HOW CAN EDIT A PICTURE

Hi, you can edit your Digital images with many Image Editors available today.

My personal suggestion is to use the freely available alternative to the Photoshop Software called GIMP which is short for Graphical Image Manipulation Program.

Download from the link below:

When i take a photo, It chops of half the bottom of the picture and adds on the top??? I really really need to know how to fix this

This is a very strange issue. First I would back up all of your photos and then format the memory card using the camera's menus. Then take more pictures and see if it's still a problem.
If that doesn't fix it, try turning off the stabilization features or any effects (a mirror type effect could produce this but seems unlikely on a higher-end camera like this).
If it's still a problem you will likely need to get it repaired by Sony, it sounds like a software issue.
In the meantime, it's easy to fix those photos using any basic image editor. You can try GIMP (more advanced) or Paint.net (more basic). Both are free. Just cut the bottom half and paste it on the top.
If you have Photoshop, you could even make an action to batch-fix all of your photos that have this problem.

When I use my flash my images have a circular (Half moon)shadow aross the bottom of my photo. Is the flash Sync off?

It's very unlikely that the flash sync could cause this. Take a look at this tip:

I'm having Kodak C190 digital camera. I'm facing certain problems which are as follows:- 1. My camera is not able to capture photo of moon even in night mode. it becomes totally blurt. 2. which one of them...

Pictures of the moon require a tripod. Night mode is a good starting place. After taking a test picture, if the moon seems too bright, you need to set the "exposure compensation" to the next lower number. Take another test photo and adjust as necessary one way or another. After you get a successful photo, you will need to crop it a lot to get the moon large enough.

My pictures are too large when downloaded onto laptop. How can I change the setting so that I can mail to friends? I never had a problem until my son borrowed the camera & altered it!

You can resize the images. For this you can use Irfanview or Paint. Or click here to visit a website which will allows you to upload and resize photos.it allows you to resize one by one.

If you want to use Paint, right-click on any photo you wish to resize and click edit. Press Ctrl+A to select the complete photo. Then drag the sliders wher you can see the end of the photo. Or

  1. Open the image file you wish to edit.
  2. Click the Image Menu at the top and select Stretch/Skew Image.
  3. Choose a percentage figure to resize the image. To avoid distortion, choose the same percentage for the horizontal and vertical stretch.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Once you have the desired size, click File, then Save or click Save As... to prevent overwriting the original image.

Vertical lines and distorted colour on display screen

Just as I got on line to this site I saw your problem being typed in and it's the exact same issue I am having with my Finepix 5000. I've owned it for all of 4 plus years with no problems and really decent photos. I'm getting a blurred image with green/magenta colors when I look through the viewfinder. When I take a photo, it shows the same. It wasn't dropped or even barely touched between the last good photo taken and this. Attached is an example of above description. I would appreciate any advise. See below.7ccd05c.jpg

On playback, picture is "pink"

I have had the same problem with my Kodak. It happened only with macro photos and photos of the moon. It is caused by a fualty image sensor. Professional repair is probably needed.
