First, loof for a special icon along the top row of your keyboard. One of those keys turns wi-fi on and off. You may need to hold down the "FN" key while pressing the wi-fi key. Make sure that you have selected the wi-fi "on" setting. Next, you can try going somewhere that has free wi-fi such as a Starbucks coffee bar or a restaurant. Open your internet browser (Internet Explorer has a large blue icon of the letter "e"). See if you get on the internet. If so, your wireless adapter is working OK. Now, most homes have wi-fi that is password protected. Click on the little bar graph icon in lower right corner of your screen and a list of available wi-fi networks should appear. Choose your home wi-fi and click on Connect. This will open a screen where you must enter the passwordor passphrase to gain access to the wi-fi. Good luck.
Ensure that you have the appropriate network key code needed to
enable you to access a secure Wi-Fi network.
If you are connecting to a secure Wi-Fi network with MAC address
restrictions, you will require pre-authorisation for the router. You
will need to find your Samsung Jet's MAC (Media Access Control)
address. This is a 12-character code which may be needed by the network
controller to enable the phone to connect. See Getting the Samsung
Jet's MAC address below.

Hi, First off you need to see if your lenovo wireless adapter is working so see if you can connect to a different network at your workplace or Tim Hortons or McDonald's has fre wi-fi. After that go home and reset your Netgear router it should have a small reset button on the back of the unit. then try to connect again.
Follow this instructions:1. connect via hard wired connection (network cable)2. open your internet explorer or any browser.3. type the numbers 192.168.0.1 on the address bar4. you will be routed to your router's settings, type admin for USERNAME: and password for PASSWORD.5. look for the basic setup/settings6. look for the wireless settings7. under your SSID comes the WEP or WPA-PSK option8. that is your wi-fi password, then modified it and remember the password you use for you will need to enter it on your pc when you are connecting via wireless connection.you can select ASCII for password. it should be alpha numeric or combination of letters and numbers.9. select saveand apply.10. you can now restart your kindle then try to search for wireless networks again and when you got your netgear wi-fi name press connect.11. you will be asked to enter your WEP key or your Pre-Shared Key.12. enter your password that you use in the instruction number 8, then press OK, then you are good to go.
You can find the Wi-Fi password either at the bottom cover of your router typed at a label, or at the configuration page for the router at the section wi-fi (or wlan) - security. In order to access the configuration page of the router you need a computer already connected at the router and the Internet Explorer (or Mozilla).
In any case you need further help or clarification, just post me a reply. Thanks Stelios
There may be many reasons for this. Please check the following things one by one.
1. If you have another known good laptop then try it with your wi-fi router. See if the wi-fi router is able to connect to the internet
2. If you don't have another laptop then use an ethernet cable (RJ45) cable to connect to the wi-fi router. See if this helps.
3. While connected with the wi-fi router see if you can access the router. open any internet browser and type 192.168.0.0. you should get the router page. If you don't get then you have to configure the router first.
4. Check the internet settings of your browser. There will be "internet options" or similar in the menu of your browser. Click that. In the GUI you will get "connections" tab. Click that and select the proper wi-fi setup.
First connect your router to computer with ethernet cable.then
acess it with following link
type user name as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password""
then configure your router as your isp settings.
Then enable wi f iin your router .
Then go to your laptop or computer .
Turn wi fi swtich on laptop.
then check wi fi network driver are installed.
Open my network placxes then find your wi f inetwork then connect .
Hp comes with a wi-fi utility and I dont find it very useful, so first, you might want to uninstall the software from add or remove programs and then use windows to manage your wi-fi. Once you connect to a wireless network from 'network connections', it will automatically be set to default and should connect at the computer startup. If it does not connect automatically.go to 'change order of prefered networks' and put your prefered network on top and set to automatically.
Try a third time (every time I go into my own network places for netgear I loose this fixya page -sorry watch for duplication).
Go into "start menu" then click on "my network places" then click on anything that says "netgear router" if its there, click on this and it should bring you to your password for netgear, click this with your password and this should bring you to your main page of your Netgear Router software programing.
Click on "connection status" if it says "success" under "negotiation" then its working OK. If you don't get "succes" then you have problems and I recommend you ring the Netgear service number written in your instruction papers in your old modem/router box they are usually based in Malaysia and very helpful.
