Wii won't play any game disc... My son tried to put a 2nd game disc in while one was playing. This caused the first disc to get stuck, which we eventually got out (I'll admit, it was with the help of a butter knife.) Well, now the console won't play ANY game, just gives the error message that it cannot read the disc. I really don't want to ship the console off to some repair shop... any suggestions? Thanks.

Wii u games load but get stuck and wont play

HI Denise.

Sometimes a Wii or Wii U is unable to read a disk, or the game will freeze or crash. And sometimes the console won't play any disk at all. Before you throw the disk in the trash or the console out the window, here are a couple of things that might get you back to playing games.13 Jul 2017

Have you tried inserting other game discs? like 3 types of disc. If your Wii console plays those discs and don't play with the game disc that you wanted to play, then the format of that disc is not recognized by console. Some disc formats are sometimes incompatible with the player console.

My 2 year old son put a 2nd game in the Wii I did not realize this until I hit eject. The system was only turned on long enough to hit eject. But now it won't play any games just says to refer to manual....

With two discs in the system, it is more than likely that the discs are stuck. This would prevent the discs from spinning and it is possible that the discs are wedged. If you are handy, you could try to take the case off and remove the discs manually, otherwise I would advise taking it to a repiar shop.

My nintendo wii wont load discs??

Here's a page on the official Nintendo site that might help.
----

"Unable to read the disc" / "Disc could not be read" If you are getting one of the above error messages:
  • Ensure that you are properly loading a Game Disc. insertdisccorrect.gif
    • If your console is placed vertically, the disc label will face to the right.
    • If your console is placed horizontally, the disc label will face upwards

  • If you know you are inserting the Game Disc correctly, but are still have the same problem with only one game (or if you only have one game), try cleaning the Game Disc by following the disc cleaning procedures (click here).
  • If after reading the above information you are still unable to play a game disc, please call 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options.
