I would try to log onto my laptop, but right after my desktop would flash, it would immediately log off. Why?

if you log into your email account with your desktop, it will see the same emails that your laptop will see when logging onto same email account

Read up on Remote Desktop. Your home computer needs to allow you to access it remotely.

There are other pay type services such as Go To My PC or Log Me In, etc.

Operating system, please? Is this your laptop? Did you set it up? You need to be an administrator to install software. If you set it up you should have created an admin password or left it blank. Try logging in as administrator without a password and then go into user accounts to change your login to have administrator rights.

I recently ran into a computer doing this.

Try what jmagnu said, hopefully it will work for you (safe mode didn't help me).

I basically had to remove the hard drive from the computer, install it into another computer and run a ton of virus, malware, spyware scans on the drive.

I used a combination of AVG, superantispyware, malwarebyte's malware remover, hijackthis, ccleaner, and a few others who's names escape me.

and make sure that u format it with fat32

if you have a recovery disc try the repair xp option
