When you print a test page, do all 3 colors show up? If they don't your cartridge is out of one color, or the print head for that color is cloged. When you install the printer on Vista, if you are using a USB cable, bring Vista all the way up and then plug in the USB cable. Vista should then tell you it found a new device. If it does, the Vista probley has a driver built into Vista. If it askes you if you want to use the existing drivers, say no and chose the drivers from the Vista printers.
Vista has its problems with drivers. If you can get on the internet dowlad and install the Vista drivers for the model of printer you have. Also you can go to control panel and delete this printer out and shut your computer off. Plug printer in and turn the computer on. If it is a plug and play printer the computer should find it and install. You should get a copy of the install disc. Good luck

Go to dell website, and download the most recent driver (vista compatable) from them. It wouldn't hurt to see if cahnges in manual too and download it also.
