2 red lights an xbox cuts off - Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

I would recommend going to xbox.com/support they can usually either solve your problem or send you a new xbox if you are under warranty.

You need to look up the procedure for REFLOWING your machine. I fix PS3's this way and XBOX systems also work after this process. Hope this helps...

Alright, the one red light means it has a "Hardware Failure".

Since its 1 Red light it is known as the "e74 Error" Which lucky for you Microsoft will fix for free.

The 2 Red lights mean Your Xbox 360 is overheating.

This is the famous red lights of death! It happens because the GPU and the CPU have overheated, to fix it you need to stop the heat build up getting to the chips, you can do this yourself or send it in.

It's not your fans that's causing the problem. It's the XBOX itself. The Xboxes generally overheat and this has been a big problem for Microsoft. Alot of companies are actually reflowing these system, reheating the solder under the chips allowing them to connect back down to the points on the board.


You will need your system reflowed. Contact a repair shop.

the lights let you know that your x box is not working correctly it is defective and you could also call it lights of destrution... what you need to do is call take the xbox back and inform them of this problem and they should have it fixed for you

Those are called the Red Rings of Death, or 3 Red lights. They're pretty "feared" by most xbox360ers, as they seem to show that your xbox360 is *dead*. Try calling microsoft, because if it's in the warranty, you can trade it for a new one. I know it might be annoying, but it's the most simple solution...

that means that your 360 is mest up and is impossible to fix if you get three red rings unless you call the 360 experts from company to fix it but i have to worn you that it cost alot
