    The best thing you can try to resolve this problem is to connect it upto pc and then go onto their site and download the latest firmware for your device this usually repairs any problems of this kind so you might need to remove anything you have installed and load the latest firmware and then reinstall what ever you put onto it.
    It might be that whatever you installed on it had some bad data causing it to freeze up so log into their site and see if their are any firmware updates as they regularly update the software to combat problems that occure during use.
    As they here of these problem they then get a sollution so have alook on the site and download all the software you need for your model let me know once you have done this then i can assist you further ok let me know

Reset the device.

Search for"reset" on this site, or find out how in your manual. This has worked for some.

TomTom One not finding pet stores? When I type in feeders supply under points of interest, it finds nothing...

Stores and organizations must belong to the Tom Tom service in order for their stores/organizations to be "found" on the GPS. That is the way Tom Tom (and other providers) earn continued revenue from their service. It's like the commercials that pay for television programs. Apparently "Feeders Supply" doesn't think it's worth the expense to list their location(s) with Tom Tom.

Same; will not see pc

Possibly you have a corrupted file from the first inital install. Go to your add/remove program, make sure all your tom tom programs are uninstalled, even in your start menu. Make sure everything on your pc is clean of tom tom apps. Clean out your history and temp files, restart your computer and try reinstalling your program. If this don't work try going right to the tom tom site and installin the program from site.

Screen freezes

There is a reset under the connector to the cradel. It is a small hole. If you push a paper clip in it it will reset back. A soft reset that usally clears this type of issue. If not reload from Tom Tom Home software you can download from the Tom Tom website.

Tom tom home does not see my tom tom go 520

Hi canal_boat_m

Try this solution:

STEP 1 Un-install Tom Tom Home from your PC

STEP 2 Click on the link below:

http://tomtom.com/lib/img/cs/S4S/files/RemoveRegEntries_TTGOv1.exe
This will download a little removal program for the Tom Tom Home program.
A Black window will appear briefly then close.
• Make sure that you have got Administrator rights on the PC. Otherwise you may not be allowed to connect new hardware (especially the case when using office computers)
• Reboot your PC

STEP 3 Visit Tom Tom website and download the current new version of Tom Tom Home and install it to your PC
STEP 4 Connect the TomTom

• Make sure the device is fully charged before connecting it to the computer. Ideally a mininum of 4 hours charge.
• Reset the device using a paper clip (see http://www.tomtom.com/6965). When resetting, keep the reset button pushed in for at least 20 seconds, but DO NOT turn the device back on just yet.
• Ensure that your TomTom has power connected to it. There should be a green light on the TomTom unit. If your device came with a Home Charger, please make sure that is plugged in to the TomTom also.
Your Tom Tom should ask you to 'Connect to Computer' if it does tap YES.

SOLUTION:
Your unit should now be recognized by your PC.

IF IT DOESN'T then follow the instructions below:

1. Connect your unit to your PC;
2. Copy two folders to your PC (namely 'Raster' and the one which holds all your maps - probably called 'United Kingdom and Eire';
3. Using Windows Utility, right click on the Tom Tom drive unit and select Fomat;
4. Switch off the unit and soft-reset it with a paper clip (but hold it in for at least 20 mins) and then re-connect it and power it up;
5. Tom Tom Home should now detect the unit and your unit should ask you to 'Connect to Computer' so tap YES;
6. Tom Tom Home will now say your device needs updating - and if you apply all the changes it will restore it to Factory Finished!
7. Then all's needed is to replace the two folders you backed up and any other items like mp3's and sounds, pics, etc.

Re: my tomtom go 920 I have connected my tomtom My pc keeps telling me to go to your home support in order to reinstall the home programme. The reason is error 0: Process failed to start up correctly....

There was an old Tom Tom Home (1.5 I think) and it is now Tom Tom HOME 2. If the icon has a little inward-facing arrow on the left-hand, lower corner then it is only a shortcut and you can safely delete them. You can always start the program by using Start, All Programs, Tom Tom etc.

Create a Restore point so you can undo the following changes and call it something like 'Pre Tom Tom HOME 2 update'.

Go to this web page:

http://www.tomtom.com/services/service.php?id=16&tab=87

and download the Windows version of Tom Tom HOME 2 and install the software. Tell the installing software to remove the old version of Tom Tom HOME - you won't need that any more.

Start up Tom Tom HOME 2 from the new shortcut icon that will now be on your Desktop and it should work unless you have an addition problem with your PC.

If it all goes wrong Restore your computer back to the Restore point you created above and you are back to where you started before you did anything.

Tom Tom go 910 screen get frozen every time I turn it on

Sounds like your firmware is corrupted. I have fixed a few 910's with this same problem. If you have the Tom Tom Home program installed, try to reinstall the firmware using Tom Tom's website.

Make sure you always select to disconnect the device before unplugging it. You might have unplugged it from the PC while it was still writing data. This will certainly corrupt the firmware.

TOM TOM Fix

yea you are right about the format fixing the issue....the problem with what you said,......is that once you format the unit ALL info is erased...So publically informing people to format their device is not fully correct.....If you are going to attempt to format....MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE MADE A BACK UP YOUR UNIT FIRST......this way you have info to put on it....

Tom Tom go 910 screen get frozen every time I turn it on

I had the same problem...I contacted Technical Support at TomTom and found out the following: I had purchased my unit through Dell and there seems to be a lot of calls in to them to get it going. It IS possible to get it working again. This is a copy of the message I received from Technical Support...it does include formatting the drive...you will need to back up your maps... After all maps have been copied to the computer, we can reformat the disk. This is done by entering to My Computer and right clicking on the drive that displays the TomTom. From there, left click on format and choose start (not quick format). In one to two minutes, the disk will be formatted and all files will have deleted. This does mean we will have lost all demos for audiobooks and mp3 player. After doing this, we can copy the map folders back onto the TomTom drive from the desktop. Then, we can open the TomTom HOME program. Once the program reads the TomTom drive, it will check for updates. These updates should include a TomTom program application and voices. We can download these updates and then choose to install them. Once installed, we can then safely remove hardware. The unit should reboot on its own, but we may have to reset the unit if it does not. After doing this, the unit should be in full working order and you should be able to navigate. Just a quick note...in order for the TomTom to work correctly, we must have an application, a map, and at least one voice installed on the hard drive.
