Question about Washing Machines
Washes ok but when it gets to spinning it skips past this and goes straight to draining.
How long does it take to skip to just draining.. The is a switch in the top of the unit that keeps the unit from going into spin mode any time the lid is up. Make sure the lid is down and locate the switch and make sure that it is getting depressed. Some lids have a plastic part protruding that pushes the switch when the lid is down..If you find the switch use a popsicle stick or something non metalic to push it down while the unit should be in spin and see if it works right. If not unplug the unit. Next if you can get the top of the unit up...Use a butter knife or putty knife and push in at each top outside corner while lifting up and release the lid to get it up. Find the switch that the lid contacts. Unplug the wires from it. Us a piece of small wire or paperclip to connect the two wires to each other. Make sure that none of this touches any metal/part of the machine and let the lid down...doesn't have to snap shut. Plug it back in and try it again to see if it spins. If so the switch is bad...This is common..also the plastic part that pushes the switch get broken off easily. Let me know what you find..
