Nano 4GB battery doesn't stay charged

My Nano 4GB will not turn off. When in the off mode it always displays the battery symbol. I have to recharge before each use, because it never turns off. I have tried resetting the nano numerous times.

While the Nano is charging there will be a symbol like a "lightning bolt" across the battery.

Once it is finished charging and charge is full there will be a graphic of a plug over the battery.

If the unit is turning off before it is finished charging and you cannot see the graphics you can go into your backlight settings and have it set to stay always on.

Then you will be able to see the plug graphic to tell when it is fully charged.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

The unit will not turn on nor charge.

Try doing this: Toggle the hold switch and put it back in the off position. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button simultaneously for ten seconds and the apple symbol should come up on the screen. Then it should work like normal. Hope this helps!

Battery Symbol and "charged" stay on iPod screen

You could try restoring the software back to factory defaults and see if something is missing. Make sure it is fully charged before doing it.

My nana wont turn on

Connect it to a power source (pc or mains) and Press and hold Menu and Select till an apple symbol appears. Now check it charges. If not it is a battery fault. If it does leave it until it is fully charged.

All the best

If your iPod nano won’t turn on or respond
1) Make sure the Hold switch is off.

2) If that doesn’t work, connect iPod nano to your computer’s USB or FireWire port. Your
iPod nano battery might need to be recharged.

3) If that doesn’t work, your iPod nano might need to be reset.

a) Toggle the Hold switch on and off (set it to Hold, and then turn it off again).
b)Press and hold the Center and Menu buttons for at least 6 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

4) If that doesn’t work, you might need to restore iPod nano software.
