Problem connecting to VPN (PPtP) via DIR-655

I cannot connect my office's VPN (PPtP) through the router. Directly connected to the modem there is no problem, so it should be with the firewall in my router.

I tried checking and unchecking the boxes in that section, but no results... Anyone can help me please? I read something about portforwarding and setting up virtual servers, but I did not really understand those comments. I am not that of a router geek :P
Would like to hear from you!

Since it work when directly connected to your modem then most likely it is an IP issue. With VPN you router can not be in the same subnet as the one you are connecting too. So alot of places do not change the IP's the equipment unless they have to you just got lucky and a router with the same default settings. If you change the IP address then you should be able to connect. Note you should only have to worry about the last 2 number sets. Example if your routers IP is 192.168.1.1 then I would change it to 192.168.5.1. Just remember what you changed it to. Also you can use any number between 1 and 254.

Let me know if you have any more problems or questions.

Hi, my dlink dir 600 is funished as an access point and i cant connect to the pptp vpn server from my university. What do i have to do?

the problem is most likely that your university blocks the pptp ports so you cannot connect to the VPN. are you able to access it if you plug your computer directly into the wired connection?

Want to make a network connection between two office 800 meters.

Buy 2 DIR 130 VPN routers and connect the two office networks via LAN-LAN VPN tunnels.
If you have the time and skills you can build two IPCOP firewall routers and connect via VPN tunnels (http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/ipcop/wiki)

Can't connect to AT&T VPN

I'll need to know what router you're using, make and model, for more specific help, but sometimes there is an option for IPSec passthrough. For example, on my Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G, there is a set of buttons under Security/VPN that are entitled IPSec Passthrough, PPTP Passthrough, and L2TP Passthrough. Since I don't know what router you're using, I can't tell you wether or not your router supports such functions or not, but if it does, you need to enable them.
