Sound works but there is no display on the monitor. it worked for the first few days then now cant see nothing. Does the park brake wire have to be hooked up in order to show the display cause i know it...

  • Yes it does. The emergency brake wire is a safety feature. If you don't have it hooked up it won't even display anything. If you do have it hooked up then you have to have the emergency brake engaged to be able to view DVD'S. The manufacturer does this so people can't just unhook the brake wire and watch DVD'S while driving

Pleace help ! with bypassing brake ..on a sdn7ud in dash tv

Unfortunately, I cannot find a good manual on this unit so I am having trouble determining what the wire color is for the brake wire. Usually these units need to see a constant ground in order to work. You can try hooking that wire up to your ground wire, not advisable though. You could try hooking it up to a switch. You more than likely would have to us a certain combination in order to get it to work like flipping it on and off a couple of times, but still is effective. You would have to consult the manuals to find out if there is a combination or not. The other, and most effective, way to make it work is by using a relay. You would just wire up power, ground, and the brake wire to the relay.

Hello I have just acquired a LEGACY LD58MT the audio it works very well but when putting a movie in any format the screen puts on in black with a message that WARNING PLEASE STOP VIDEO WATCH PLAYER says...

This unit was not designed to be used while the car is in motion. Your parking brake must be in the engaged position in order to view the monitor. The brake wire must be hooked up to the parking brake wire or grounded in order for this function to work properly.

Where does the parking brake wire hook up in order to bi-pass this option on alpine iva-c800 car audio system

based on my previous experience with the Alpine Mobile Multimedia Station, 1 wire needs to see 12 volts ie. brake light wire, the other needs to see ground ie. parking brake.

You can hook up the wire that needs 12 volts to either ignition or some other 12 volt source. The other wire needs to be connected to a toggle switch to ground. Then flip the switch as needed to simulate the parking brake and voila...

Park brake switch

If you have the old firmware then all you need to do is ground the parking brake wire..

if you have the new firmware(just bought the system) a toggle switch is involved:
1 - connect e-brake wire from dvd unit to the switch
2 - connect a ground wire from switch to the unit chassis(any good metal grounding surface will do)
3 - pop in a dvd, toggle the switch back and forth 2 or 3 times depending on what wire you placed where...and voilaa!! your dvd system should work in motion!!

How to Bypass E-Brake Screen For In Dash DVD Player?

There should be a green wire if not the wire that states to hook to the e-brake hook to a hot 12v source and that should fix the problem. You may have to ground that wire instead depending on the model.

All you need to do is hook up the wire that goes to the emergency brake cable to a ground (anywhere that is metal).
