I believe the antenna on that model is a "smart" antenna, which means that the receiver is in the antenna, not in the display, and it is connected to the back of the display with a multi pin plug that provides power and data link to the antenna.

If the antenn is mounted directly in the path of a RADAR beam from a RADAR antenna on your boat, the antenna will not acquire satellites while the RADAR is on.

More likely you have a bad connection:
1) remove the display from its mount
2)gently tug on the GPS cable to see if it comes off without twisting. If it comes off make sure it is aligned, push it back on twist the locking ring and try again.
3) if GPS plug is properly installed and unit doesn't work, remove the plug and and check the pin holes for corrosion, also check the socket in the back of the display for damaged or missing pins. Anything that interrupts power or data will cause the antenna to stop working. If there are no obvious signs of corrosion or damage, then the problem is most likely in the antenna processor. If you have access to another antenna, or if you know somebody who has any model Lowrance with the same plug on their GPS try running your display on their antenna. If it works elsewhere then you need a new antenna, which is probably just as cheap to buy new as to have repaired. If it doesn't work then you probably need to remove the display and antenna and send it out for service.
4) Before you send it out there is a slight possibilty that the problem lies in your display processor. Make sure you have the latest software update in your display. The software version should appear on the display when you first start it up. Click here to compare your version to the most current version available. If your software is not current, download it to a blank data card, place the data card in your chart slot, and turn on the display. The screen will prompt you on what to do next. If that doesn't work then repair or replacement is your only option.

I hope this helps, please contact me if you have any questions , or if you decide to replace it I'll be happy to offer advice about new models.

Gps wont work but fishfinder works fine

This model has two versions, one with the GPS as an external piece, and one with the GPS mounted internally. If the location of the internal mounted GPS cannot get a clear shot at the satellites overhead, it will tell you it cannot get a GPS fix. If it says it is disconnected, you may have a problem with the internal GPS. There are external GPS pucks available for this unit. Here is a helpful website.

My lowrance 520c GPS stopped working. When I turn it on it shows the last lake I was AT. And the trail marker does not work

I have a 525... Several things and go step by step... First, make sure your getting 12v of power to your "puck"... On the Lowrance site there is a step by step guide for testing. Just because your getting power to the main unit does not mean your getting power to your the gps module. There are three different power sources on these units. Main power, sonar and gps! If your getting 12v coming out of the data port then check power to the cords, and to the T... If all that is correct the its likely your gps module. You can order a new one directly from Lowrance customer support for 50% off the normal price as a replacement. They will likely upgrade you to the 4000 series. Comes with all wiring, T connector but not the resistor cap. Best time to call Lowrance is 8:15 am central time when the phones are turned on!

Not tracking satalite.

If you can hear the dish actually serching when it says "searching", there is a good possibility that you have a bad LNB on the dish. Unfortunately, this is not the only thing that can cause the problem. Your best bet is to call KVH @ 4018473327. Make sure you are on the boat when you call and they will run you through all of the programming checks to narrow down your issue. Good luck.

HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY LOWRANCE 525C WITH EXTERNAL ANTENNA. IT KEEPS TELLING ME GPS MODULE NOT RESPONDING. I HAVE CHECKED ALL CONECTIONS AND CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM. WHAT NEXT

Make sure that you have powered the NMEA 2000 network. The display unit's power cable has a set of red, black, and sheild wires that need to be hooked up to a 12VDC power source. There is a power diagram somewhere in the manual that should show this.

Make sure that you have the NMEA 2000 network connected properly. If it is a newer version LMS-525, it should just be a single 15ft cable that has two female ends, the module plugs into one end, and the other end plugs into the back of the display.
If it came with some T connecters and 120Ohm Terminator caps, then make sure you have that hooked up correctly. There should be a diagram in the manual for that as well but you just connect the two T's together like TT, put the 120Ohm terminators at each end, and run the extensions to the display and GPS module.

There is a decent troubleshooting guide for checking to make sure power is getting to the module at http://primus.lowrance.com/support/resultDisplay.do?gotoLink=92&docType=1000&contextId=426%3A92.273%2C600.639%2C92.113&clusterName=ClusterPublic&lang=english&docset=%2FDocuments%2FTroubleShooting%2FNew+Utility&contentId=42296cce-4f9b-40c8-9dcf-33d5df754009&responseId=135ccbe2cfd4f608%3A1fe88d%3A1225c5cc17c%3A-bac&groupId=4&answerGroup=1&score=986&page=http%3A%2F%2Fprimus.lowrance.com%2Ficr%2FTroubleShooting%2FNew+Utility%2FNU_GPS_ModNR.htm&result=0&excerpt=Module+Not+Responding+The+GPS+module+not+responding+(early+GPS+products+may+also+indicate+coupler+not+responding)+indicates+that+the+unit+and+module+are+no+longer+communicating.&question=gps+module+not+responding&resultType=5000#Goto92

If this doesn't tell you anything, most likely the GPS module is bad.You will need to contact Lowrance support to get it repaired/replaced. You can call them at 800-324-1356 or email them at http://www.lowrance.com/en/Support/Product-Support/Contact/

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds like your internal module is on the fritz. I am pretty sure you can buy a external puck and a harness and it will work perfect. I did that with my hummingbird 997.

Alarm says" gps module not responding"

"GPS Module Not Responding" is the display units way of telling you there is basically no GPS module connected. You didn't say which unit you have, so I am assuming this is something like an LMS-520? The GPS module is the LGC-3000? If this is the module you have, make sure that you have powered the NMEA 2000 network. The display unit's power cable has a set of red, black, and sheild wires that need to be hooked up to a 12VDC power source. There is a power diagram somewhere in the manual that should show this.

If this doesn't tell you anything, most likely the GPS module is bad.

Globalmap 2000 sonar not responding

Not enough info to diagnose your problem. It sounds like a networking problem. I couldn't find a manual for the sam-st module so I'm not sure how you have it hooked up. Typically with these devices only one would be hooked up to the SONAR module, and it would then share the data with the other display via an ethernet or NMEA2000 network. The erratic behavior of your bluewater could be due to some sort conflict with the current coming from the GlobalMap2000. Do you get the same problem when the 2000 is turned off? Have you tried running the GlobalMap2000 with the bluewater turned off?
