I have tried the above solution, but has made no difference. I have purchased new memory and tried in all slot configurations, but this has not solved the problem. The only difference is that now the battery charge light is on. Please help, I do not want to waste much more money on the problem.

This is a video card error. you need to replace the mother board as the video card is built-in.
this could happend because of the exssesive heat.
I have the same problem and I'll try to do something in the next few weeks.

You have to check that whether the RAM is ok.
If you had two RAMs, remove one RAM chip, and check.
If not ok do the vice versa and check with the other chip.
This should help you.

I turn laptop on an screen is black... fan comes on power button lights up but no display

Do you get any beeps when the laptop starts up? There is a POST (Power on Self Test) routine that attempts to diagnose startup problems and send beep codes (pattern of short/long beeps) before the main programs start up. If you get any beep codes, you can search for your computer model with 'POST codes' added if you have access to another computer. That might tell you what was wrong. Also try disconnecting from AC and removing the main battery for 15-30 minutes and then put both back on and see if you can get any different response from the laptop. Watch for any other activity such as the hard disk light or WiFi LED lighting also. If you don't get any response other than no startup, a tech would have to diagnose the problem from the motherboard.

I have a medion notebook model md 40954 and i get 3 beeps and the screen is black . any ideas what i need to do ?

Medion/Aldi seem very jealous of revealing their beep codes on the net. Still, I can try from a general perspective with a few suggestions.

    1. Try starting the computer by pushing the power button for only the smallest fraction of time possible.

    2. Unplug the computer, remove the battery and then hold down the power button for 45 seconds to 1 minute. Sometimes this may work on the 1st try, but often may on the 3rd or 4th. If not, leave that method behind.

    3. If neither of these work, try speaking with Medion Support directly and try not to be to heavy handed on the "blue thumbs" with a negative response my way.

    Be well,

Take the hard drive out and see if anything comes up on the screen. If so, replace the hard drive.

Does the screen get any brighter when you turn on the laptop? If not, the lcd cable, or power inverter may have gone bad.

Did you have any blue screen of death errors, or any other kind of errors before the screen problem? If so, you may have bad memory. Do you hear any beeps?

    Toshiba satellite A50 error code

try removing the memories, hard drive, optical drives and power on your computer. if the computer beeps it is an indication that your computer is working and one of the remaining part could be causing the no boot. if after removing all the parts your computer will not beep or the flashing amber light will not change it looks like you will need to replace your motherboard

Laptop keeps beeping and not turning on

I think you may mean the Hard Disk light not floppy, although, if you have a floppy disc drive, check there's no floppy disc in it as it will stop the boot up. But if it's not the floppy, and the hard disc drive light stays on, possibly the hard drive is faulty, maybe damaged sectors. The other maybe is a possible memory fault, although the beep codes can only be identified if you know the motherboard make. Your rating are important.
