Your Dell Latitude E6400 laptop comes with a built-in webcam at the top of the LCD screen. This camera can take still pictures and record video for use with video messaging. You can access the camera via a software program already installed on the computer. This program can be accessed right from the desktop screen.
1.Turn on your Dell Latitude and click on the "Start" tab on the main desktop screen. A list of options will appear in a drop-down window. 2.Click "Dell Webcam" from the list of options in the window. 3.Click on "Dell Webcam Center" and the program will open. A capture window will appear on screen. Beneath the capture window will be a control panel. 4.Click on the camera icon to take a still photo. 5.Click on the "Record" button to record video with the webcam. I hope you find it helpful. Best regards.
Did you try using the software that is built into the computer to use your webcam? If not just search webcame in the start menu. I tried looking for the drivers but seems that there aren't any. Sorry if this wasn't much help.
Hello sir, hi, you definitely need your CD with driver which came with your Dell laptop, Use the CD to install the webcam software driver and application. If you cant find the CD, go to DELL website www.dell.com and download the driver for your webcam, and hopefully the laptop/webcam supports windows 7. If not you may need to wait for the driver.
Currently there aren't any drivers for your computer with Windows 7. Dell only offers drivers for your computer with Windows XP or Windows Vista. I would try using the Creative Labs Webcam Driver they have for Vista. Since many things about Vista & 7 are similar, often the drivers for Vista will work with Windows 7. Go to dell.com, enter the model of your computer, choose Vista as your operating system, then go to Input Devices, choose the Creative Webcam and download the driver to your desktop (I suggest against using Dell's Download Manager, just download via your browser like you usually would). Then install the driver. With any luck your will be up and running with your webcam.
webcam driver(vista)
Goto start, type Device Manger in the Search box, open it,check under imaging devices or if the driver is not installed it will show as other devices, select it right click on it & scan for online drivers.
go to support.dell.com for driver install
this system is not compatible for WIN 7
Here you can find the whole package of drivers related to Dell Latitude D820 for Windows Xp and i will upload the drivers for Windows Vista later for those who are looking for these drivers
