samsung combo dvd no power have checked fuse

  • Anonymous Apr 13, 2008

Power lost after loading a cassette (which is now stuck there).
Have checked that power is available both sides of the fuse.
ON/OFF switch seems to be operating, but haven't checked it with meter.

Got almost the same; only it goes standby. After switching on the device, operation returns to normal. checked the diodes, ok.

    Hi
I have the same problem. I dont have a technical background. Is there anything that can be done without too much knowledge.

    Thanks
    Jo

Check D1SS16, a diode in secondary supply near the transformer. It's probably short circuit. Replace it with an SF-26, 400V, 2A rectifier diode, or equivalent.

I also have a V5600 with exactly this problem and found that the cause was exactly the same. Replaced the failed diode and this restored the power. However the tape reading head will now not spin with a tape cassette inserted. Either the electronics was damaged by the diode failure or I have done something wrong when putting the unit back together. Great pity.

I had a dead V5600 too - Diode SHG2D was dead it is in the back right hand corner looking from the front. Measure it first with a DVM - if it is like a few ohms & the same reading either direction it is dead. I replaced mine with a MUR460 (A MUR420 is fine too) I had to carefully drill the two holes in the board to 1.5mm after the old diode was removed. Should be tackled by a technician really you could avoid pulling the whole thing apart by cutting the two wires close to the diode body and carefully soldering the new diode to the stumps. Not for the non technical person to fix really,

FUNAI DRV-B2737 HAS NO POWER AT ALL, NOT EVEN 'ON' BUTTON LED. CAN IT JUST BE INTERNAL FUSE BLOWN?

It can be a fuse but unit has to be opened to see---if fuse is good replace the player as cost for repair would be too much if power supply is bad.

hti had athe same problem, and the fuse fixed it. it turns on now,

you can get to the fuse casing, small tube about 1.5 inches , black, by flowing the electrical line to the, inside , or the under carriage, on the side of the bottom of the unit.

Afraid not! ... You need a Recordable DVD player to record TV programs....
The Samsung v4600 is just a DVD player, with no recording capabilities.

37 inch LG LCD won't turn on due to power failure

Power failures can cause all types of problems, have you firstly checked the fuse in the mains plug? If that is ok then it may have blown an internal fuse in the power supply board, these are there to protect the rest of the circuit from power surges.

Phillips model 29PT6773/05

if the fuse seems to be ok then on the power supply board check for any blown capacitor or any bulged capacitor or ics.that could also create the problem if blows off.you have to replace the capacitors and ics.to make the tv work again.check out for the fauly on the tracks of the main board.

you can also call a tech as it is worth reparing.

thanks.

No Indication...Dead Unit?

Firstly, try plugging the unit into another mains socket just to make sure it's not the socket that's faulty, or try another appliance in the socket you are using. Next, make sure the fuse in the plug hasn't blown. If you don't have a fuse tester, you can try the fuse in another similar appliance to see if it works. If it has blown and your spare lead is the same, there will be an internal problem. Inside the unit is an in-line 2 amp fuse. If this has blown you almost certainly have a power board problem. Always switch the mains off before plugging in or removing the mains lead from the rear of the unit. Back EMF can damage the appliance if you don't do this.
