This is a comon problem. Better You check the all cable join Including Power & 4 plug ATX holder from power section. Check the IDE cables. Unplug all this & plug it properly (Shake the joint properly). If any IDE device is not matched with m board I think then you need to consult the shop.

How can I a boot disk system failure on my Asus without a system disc?

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Hi,
I think that the operating has gone corrupt and needs to be reinstalled. First, make sure that your PC can read the hard disk in BIOS (at boot up, press F2 to enter BIOS and check "Drive Configuration). You should be able to find the hard drive (as well as CD/DVD ROM) here. If not check the hard disk cables etc. At boot up, you may also press F12 for Boot Menu and select the primary hard disk for booting up the PC.
Secondly, boot the PC from CD ROM, Delete the partitions and make fresh partitions for installation of the operating system. You may also add the hard disk of your PC to another PC (as slave) and delete all the partitions from the operating system and make fresh partitions. Place the hard back into your PC and proceed with installation.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem. Could not read from selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware.

It appears that your system can't find any bootable device such as the hard drive. Go to system BIOS and check if the hard drive is detected. By pressing F2/Delete key while starting up it will boot up to your BIOS screen. You could also try to load the system BIOS default.

Boot error always

Hello sir, hi your boot error can be caused by the following:
  1. Your IDE hard disk is not the first boot, and wrong available boot on the bios. Check your BIOS setup for proper boot device.
  2. Your IDE hard disk has bad serctors, since its P4, I estimate your drive to be 8 years or more. You may need to format the hard drive again and reinstall your OS (windows XP).
  3. IF your HD cannot be formated, or no amount of windows installation can be done on the disk, its time to replace it.
  4. Your IDE cannot be detected by the motherboard. check your BIOS configuration for proper hard disk setup.
  5. Your IDE hard drive and your CD drive are both master or both slave, set the hard disk to master and the CD drive to slave. The settings can be seen on the case of the HD and CD drive.
  6. Your IDE ribbon cable is bad.
  7. Your 4 pin molex power cable to the HD is loose.
If I miss out something, please let me know. thanks.

Go to the BIOS setup and find the Boot Seuence. Select Hard Disk first and if Hard Disk in blank, Boot from CD and install Operating System. This error usually comes when BIOS do not find the Boot Record on Hard Disk. (ehteshamhusain@gmail.com)

It doesn't boot from hard disk

can you still go to CMOS SETUP?
how many beep and beep long of your pc while booting?
if you can still go to cmos setup try delete all partition using your windows setup then install a fresh copy of windows. if there are no partition found means theres a problem with your hardisk try put your hard disk to secondary if in primary or use different data cable might be the problem if the data cable is not the problem see the power supply of your hard disk is fine try swap the power suppply of your hard disk and cd-rom drive or extra power supply if power supply is not problem .
Buy a Brand New Harddisk might fix it your hard disk might have plenty of bad sector thats why doesn't boot anymore.
Hope i help you out ^)^

Booting so late

Check u're BIOS settings ! There are setting that allow a delayed drive test (for the hard drives that initiate them selfs slower than the motherboard) maybe that is u\re problem. U can also do a BIOS update, and set all the settings on default ...

it can also stay that long if u manually set a disk drive in BIOS, and that disk does not exist ...., or even a faulty dvd unit ....try removing u're dvd and see if it influences the boot up time. ..
