My vistas desktop opens but the mouse doesnt works not even the pointer moves but it does in xp

You will need to download and install the Vista drivers for your mouse from the mouse manufacturers website. Once you have done this you should be all set. Good luck.

Screen saver will not come on

It sounds like you have some program running in the background that is preventing your screen saver from showing. This could be a virus scan, or some other program you unknowingly downloaded from the internet....(spyware, etc). Check to make sure nothing is running in background and do a full scan for virus, spyware, etc.

How do I update the initial drivers of Accer Aspire 5050

the basic generic drivers are installed when you install vista which will give you video, keyboard, mouse, cd-rom/dvd rom. If you want to download the actual drivers for your individual devices you need to go to the manufacturer's site (i.e. www.ati.com) or whoever makes the motherboard.

Jumping cursor when typing

Since you have a logitech mouse, lets just disable the touchpad. You should be able to disable the touchpad via one of these methods:
  1. Look on the top row of keys. You should have one that looks like a little mouse. If you do, hold down the "fn" key in the bottom, and press the key with the mouse on it. That *should* disable the touchpad.
  2. Go to the control panel, and find the keyboard and mouse settings. Digging through the menus, you should find a touchpad. You can disable it through there.
