Have to agree with Billy. It sounds like a motherboard issue. Is it still under warranty?

When it's plugged in and turned off, does it show any charging lights?

You have suffered a motherboard failure, just to be sure you need to check the voltage at the tip of your AC adapter and leave the system battery out of it, Just try to power it on with the adapter. If the same event happens, you will need to either service the motherboard or replace it. Ebay has several MOBO repair services for the HP products, specifically the DV6000 and the DV9000. These have been HP's problem child for a few years.

Laptop Pavillion DV6188eu doesn't start up

From what you are describing, the motherboard has failed. I would however like you to try a couple of things though. First remove the hard drive and see if the computer will go to the BIOS screen. If it does not, then the Motherboard has definately died. If you can get to the BIOS, then you might consider a hard drive failure, or your windows installation is so corrupt, it is causing this problem. I would however lean toward a bad MOBO....seems this model, the DV6000 and the DV9000 have serious cooling issues and tend to burn their mobos up. HP recently started updating the BIOS files for these models so the fans and processor run more efficiently to keep the laptop cooler.

Hp Pavillion dv6000 will not turn when hit theon off button nothing happens

A lot of times these laptops are in a sleep mode (after a certain period of time which is decided by the windows or the user, the computers turn of the screen). I would start by pressing on the power button for a long time (about 1-2 minutes), then try all the basic stuff:
1. check the laptop's cable, if it looks okay or not, maybe there's a problem charging the battery.
2. try replacing the cable and the battery.
3. try removing the battery for about 24 hours.

update me if you have any developments

Hp pavillion dv9000 blank screen on start up

Sounds like you are having a video issue on the motherboard and that is not a software or easy fix. Most people have to change out their motherboards when it comes down it in regards to this type of activity.
