HP PSC 1215 - I always seem to get a mechanical problem message when trying to print. The paper runs through but the last 10cm seems to get caught and doesn't feed through. I am able to pull it out

When you pull the paper out do you hear clicking or does it come out silently? If you hear clicking chances are that the gears &/or clutch are out of sync. There are ways to put them back into the correct timing but I can't explain how this is done. It is also possible the a gear is missing a tooth or two (most machines have plastic gears). If the printer si not too old you might take it into a Copier Repair shop.

Hello Landscapeman ,

You need to specify the paper type when the print dialog box appears. Heavy glossy paper needs to spend more time in the fuser so that the toner is fixed.

Try opening the printer properties and cleaning the print heads (should probably be done each time a cartridge is changed), it uses some ink up but should clean the build up from running the previous cartridge dry and hopefully solve your printing problem.

Good luck.

I have an HP Photosmart 8050 printer that gives me a paper jam message after each print job

Hi,
i,d suggest that the paper sensor is faulty.
try unplugging your printer, and setting it back up.
alternatively, hold down the paper-jam button if it,s flashing.

Where is the ink cartridge located on the hp psc 2110v all-in-one printer, scanner, copier

With the power turned on.
Just above the paper try & below the scanner bed.
Lift the edge till the hole top opends like a book. The carridge with ink cartridges will move to the center of the opening. Do you not have a manual? Download it at the link here.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=79494&lang=en&
Download the file that reads: HP PSC 2100 Series all-in-one - (English) Reference Guide . Start on page 26 for ink cartridge.

HP Printer Conflict

Perform a clean and "No bloated" installation of the hardware.
Uninstall ALL the HP printer software, disconnect the PSC and reboot the computer.
When windows finish to load, connect the PSC again, the new hardware wizard will show up, follow the instructions with the HP Installation disk in the drive.
IMPORTANT: When a silver sand glass show up in the screen, CANCEL the installation of the HP software (this is by clicking "CANCEL" button or by no accepting the license terms). This will install only the PSC Drivers and nothing else.
Try printing again.

Hi i've got a hp 5500,most mornings when i switch the machine on there is a recover print head mesage . can you tell me why this is happening and how i can resolve the problem. thank you gem

Ok well i'm a little confused on this one also, i presume you are referring to a HP printer and the message is displayed.

Try this and let us know if it makes sense to you.

There's a section in your Users Guide about this message.
It will appear on your printer when one or more print head(s) are not performing optimally, so it needs to make extra passes to maintain print quality. You can eliminate the message by:

1. Selecting a higher print quality
2.Cleaning print heads (also see RECOVER print heads)
3.Use the Image Diagnostic Print to identify which print head is causing the problem

Canon

You prob have a few small pieces of photo paper jammed in the printer somewhere. Try to take something small that you can push through the printer to make sure there is nothing hidden jamming the printer.
