You must post more information such as sound card manufacturer and what operating syatems is being used. as a general rule since this was a general question if you have had working sound on a computer and all of a sudden it stops reinstalling the sound card drivers via the manufacturer's software program for that will fix it.

No sound got eroor code 1b63:061b , 0f1b , 151b, 101b

This error code is usually generated by a Dell Computer. I suggest that you perform an extended test by pressing the F12 Key at the startup of the Computer.
Furthermore, you may go to the Device Manager and check the status of the audio devices which are listed under the "sound, video, and game controllers" category.

I suggest that you try uninstalling and reinstalling the Audio devices from the device manager.

In order to uninstall the audio devices from the Device Manager, please right click on the device and then click Uninstall. It's required to restart the Computer after uninstalling a device. Once the Computer is restarted, reinstall the appropriate Audio driver. You can download the audio driver from the support site of your Computer manufacturer.

Most likely you need to install drivers for your sound card. To confirm this, please check your device Manager (right-click My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager) for unknown/improperly installed devices.

Have cd13v75201004 sound card but canot cat sound from my computer orion computer

check device manager. This can be done in Win XP by right clicking my computer, properties, hardware, then click device manager. Alternative way to enter device manager is by clicking start menu, control panel, system (performance and maintenance), hardware then device manager.

In the deice manager window see if any question marks or exclamation points are visible.

If so, see if it the mark is for an audio device.

If it is an audio device, uninstall the device.

Next, try to install the sound card driver again. If that fails, the enter the device manager and uninstall the sound card again, restart the PC, ignore the hardware manager, and try to install the sound card driver software again.

I would update the sound card driver anyway just in case. Drivers can get corrupt. Just happens.

Hope this works.

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might...

You might encounter this error message for one of the following reasons:
  • Your sound device is in use by another program. Quit other programs that might be using your sound device, and then try to play the file again.
  • Your sound device requires an updated driver. To determine if an updated driver is available, see Windows Update, or see the sound device manufacturer's Web site.
  • The selected sound device does not support Secure Audio Path (SAP). If you have multiple sound devices installed on your computer, try using a different one.
  • Your sound device is not functioning properly. To troubleshoot the problem, see Windows Help and Support or refer to your sound device's documentation.
  • You do not have a sound device installed on your computer. Install a sound device (such as a sound card), and then try to play the file again. If you can't install a sound device in your computer, you might be able to resolve the problem by attaching USB-based headphones or USB-based speakers to your computer instead.

No sound

it is easy to find whether in your compute has sound card or not... just check backside of the computer... if there is sound port besides default port then . you also can open (unscrew) the computer and can check whether the card is inserted into the soundcard slot or not... easy way

if this didn't work you can follow thee following steps..

Step11 Check the front or back of the computer to see if there are audio jacks for speakers, microphone or audio inputs. These plugs are typically in a standard color code of green, pink, and blue. If you can find no plugs available, then it is a good bet that the computer doesn't have a sound card installed.
Step221Open the control panel, Start>Settings>Control Panel. Look for the icon that says "Sound and Audio Devices." Open the icon and look on the "Sounds" tab. The sound device used for audio appears in a box in the upper portion of the screen. There should also be entries in the last three tabs. The last tab is the "Hardware" tab. It will list all the available audio and sound devices on the computer. Step332Right-click on the "My Computer" icon and select "Properties." Click on the third tab and then select the "Device Manager." The Device Manager shows all the hardware on your computer. It displays any devices it cannot identify under "Other" with a yellow question mark. These may be the sound card. If there is nothing listed under "Sound card" and nothing under "Other", then you don't have a sound card in your computer.

you may need to access the computer's manufacturer website to download the sound drivers. another way you could try is to click Start > Run > type devmgmt.msc and hit <Enter> to open device manager

go to the Sound section and expand it --- then highlight the device and right click and then select Update Driver.

What is your motherboard type and model? If you purchased your computer a brand new unit,a CD installerforit device drivers shouldcome with it. If you have that Device driver installer CD,try installing from the CD device installer that came with your new PC.
